tcjmama Posted August 13, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2013 So excited to be cruising away on Oasis August 24! We booked a balcony guarantee and today it looks like we've been assigned a Central Park balcony on deck 14. It's an accessible room (which thankfully we don't need). Is this common? Are there any drawbacks to the accessible room, or should we just enjoy the extra space? My husband and I are traveling with our 2 daughters, 4 and 7. maureencruiser Posted August 13, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2013 Roll-in showers can sometimes cause the water to escape onto bathroom floor. If so, just get extra towels from steward, make sure the kids are careful on the slippery floor.

As maureencruiser wrote, there will be a handicapped-accessible shower in the bathroom. The advantage for you will be the extra space there to be in the shower with your little ones. maureencruiser Posted August 13, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 13, 2013 There should also be a little pull down seat in the shower, that might come in handy with the kids? I'm not sure, I don't have kids, but, couldn't you just sit them on the seat and hose them off? I was assigned an HC cabin once, didn't need it when I got on the ship, but, after I tore my ACL playing Quest, I spent the rest of the cruise in a wheelchair! It reminded me of what they say about playing with someone's crutches - if you do, you are going to need them yourself! :D
