sunsetme Posted August 13, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2013 Lets see if we can't get some reaction from Carnival here. I see so many comments about this. Is it mainly persistent aft or can you smell it elsewhere? I will have a forward cabin Deck 11 so I am concerned.
dos equis Posted August 13, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2013 Kind of concerned here too, since someone posted that they smelled it in their cabin the entire cruise. We sail in less than 2 weeks...
cherbear4000 Posted August 13, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 13, 2013 I smelled it in my cabin the entire cruise. I was 9 Aft. The Aft pool section of the Lido was the worst. It got so bad at times people had to leave. I did not smell it throughout the entire ship though. It was mostly the Aft section.

rainbowflag Posted August 13, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 13, 2013 It sounds like there may be a new purpose for the clothes pins so many bring for the shower curtain. Be sure to pack extra pins!

Big_G Posted August 13, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 13, 2013 Should I be ok with my cabin on deck 9 forward? Probably unless the ship stops short.
jansarts Posted August 13, 2013 #8 Share Posted August 13, 2013 We booked 7th aft wrap for the first time, have always cruised forward, Hope they correct the smell it by the 31st when we cruise. Especially if Carnival knows what it is...
near the beach Posted August 14, 2013 #9 Share Posted August 14, 2013 We spent a lot of time on the lido deck. No problem odor in July.

Cocochanel26 Posted August 14, 2013 #11 Share Posted August 14, 2013 I hope we don't have this issue in November. My boss sailed the Breeze earlier this year and didn't have this problem, so I'm hoping I won't smell it either. Yuck! KPfromCT Posted August 14, 2013 #12 Share Posted August 14, 2013 We cruised in April in a Lido Deck balcony and never had an issue, either in the hallways, or on the deck, of this sewage smell. We may have caught a whiff of it once or twice, over 8 days, but nothing bad. Good Luck!!!!

Sailed the Breeze TA last November, and again this past May, didn't have the smell at all then. Our cabin was a 4J on Lido spent, but we spent a fair amount of time in the aft sections of the ship..either by the pool..pizza joint...rear seating in the Lido Marketplace/buffet...rear bar....never noticed this smell. Wonder what changed...
skyeman27 Posted August 14, 2013 #14 Share Posted August 14, 2013 I think that this is a problem that all cruise ships have from time to time. Have smelled the sewer smell on most ships that I have cruised on, most times it was very faint and not long lasting. One time I had that smell coming from my cabins shower drain, ran the shower water and that fixed the problem...
carsastic Posted August 14, 2013 #15 Share Posted August 14, 2013 It's due to carnivals fascination with cheaper quality foods Burritos burgers fatty foods They all produce sulfides That's why is so random. Aft , foward , lido. Cabin Watch them there sneaky

One time I had that smell coming from my cabins shower drain, ran the shower water and that fixed the problem... I too have smelled it occasionally on other cruises here and there. That is not what occurred on the Breeze. The smell on the Breeze was powerful and consistent. There was definitely a problem. One night it was so bad I almost vomited. The entire ship was talking about the smell. I had wrote on a different thread that my dad was told there was a broken pump. It really was bad. Doug910 Posted August 14, 2013 #17 Share Posted August 14, 2013 ...Wife is presently sailing on the Breeze. Spoke with her today and happen to ask. She has a cabin on the Riviera Deck Aft. No smell there at all. Faint smell Riviera Deck Midship, but barely noticeable. No smell anywhere else on the ship, and she knows exactly the smell to look for. ...We previously sailed the Breeze in January in a Cove Balcony cabin, Main Deck, Midship, right off the Atrium elevators. Never smelled anything the whole week.
okgirl Posted August 14, 2013 #18 Share Posted August 14, 2013 I was on the Breeze for 2 weeks in January and never smell an odor in any part of the ship. I do have a ritual of running the shower and sink when I first enter my cabin and also pour several glasses of water down the floor drain. I do the floor drain every couple of days and so far have never had an odor in my cabin. I've smelled it on other ships but it was in the public areas and always brief. Kiejai2 Posted August 16, 2013 #21 Share Posted August 16, 2013 I was on the July 20th sailing and the only time I smelled it was outside walking around the track in the back of the boat. A friend sailed in June and said the smell was bad in the back of the boat.
rok233 Posted August 16, 2013 #22 Share Posted August 16, 2013 I was on the Breeze in December by the aft elevators on the empress deck and didn't smell anything. I'm on the empress deck aft again next weekend and really not worried.
