MeanieGal Posted August 14, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2013  Hello everyone. This is a site that I have a lot of trust in, so I decided my questions would best be answered here instead of hunting fruitlessly on GOOGLE. I received a Cruise Check (blue background) from Port Orange, FL 32128. The phone number is 855-510-5939. It reads: Pay to the order of: ME and is good for an 8 day, 7 night cruise for 2 leaving from a major port in the US. Additonal Information: CONGRATULATIONS! Our promotional department shows that you are going to receive a complimentary 8 day 7 night cruise for 2, leaving a major port in the US. BONUS: For calling today, you will also receive 2 round trip airfares leaving from or going to a major airport in the continental US. Please reference your check voucher number. CALL IMMEDIATELY: 855 510 5939 *call for details. Certain restrictions apply. The back of the "check" has additional information. Details of participation: Certain restrictions apply. Call for details of participation. members, past visitors, employees or anyone affiliated with this promotion are ineligible. Void were prohibited. Spouses, fiance', partners or significant others must attend together. Promotion may be cancelled at any time. This is a fun way to promote our services, so attendance at a 90-minute visitation is required. Certain ports, ships or dates could incur a surcharge. Recipient is responsible for any applicable deposits, port charges, taxes and/or fees. Cruise line reserves the right to reinstate fuel supplement for all guests at up to $9 per person per day if the NYMEX oil price exceeds $70 per barrel. Approx. retail value is $1299.00. While supplies last. NO RAIN CHECKS. This is all the information that I was given. Can anyone help me decipher this whole thing? I don't know if it's actually legitimate or if it's a weird scam. What cruise line? Is it a crappy bottom of the boat inside room? Is the 90 minute presentation really HOURS long? I'm unsure about even calling them. WHAT DO ALL OF YOU THINK? I trust all of you far more than I do a random site on the internet for advice and sound information. Thanks for any help!!!
ISLABONITA Posted August 14, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 14, 2013 Sounds like a time share presentation.. nothing is really ever free that looks to have hidden costs.. just call and ask if you are curious. I have received those in the past and they have gone in the trash.. junk mail to me. Rare Scrapnana Posted August 14, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 14, 2013 I am a very skeptical person so I would immediately consider it some kind of a scam. They are going to give me a cruise and air fare for sitting through a 90 minute presentation??? Really? That phone number does not turn up anything in a reverse phone number search or a search on the BBB site.
