tx121 Posted August 15, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 15, 2013 So I have a friend who is getting married on board the Explorer in September and I have a random question. Is it normal to pay $200+ to RENT a tuxedo (includes shoes)?? I myself feel this is a ridiculous price but there is not much I could say since the bride and groom picked out the tuxedo for the bridal party. Also, we are to take the cruise with them after the wedding at the home port but need to return the tuxedos the next day. How is that possible? I guess we will have to change right out of our suits and give it to someone who will not be cruising after the wedding onboard. Seems like kind of a waste of money to shell out $200+ for a couple of hours of use. Maybe I can demote myself to a regular guest instead. :D
spookwife Posted August 15, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 15, 2013 sounds about right. esp from a land based facility and 'custom' accessories( matching cummerbund and bow tie and of course the pocket square)
jmf123 Posted August 15, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 15, 2013 tx121, would it work to arrange for a tux rental via Royal Caribbean's website? Since you are cruising after the ceremony, and tuxes are waiting for you in your stateroom... Go to your room, change into the tux, wedding happens and you're set. https://tuxedorentals.rccl.com/tuxedo/tuxrental.nsf. They offer packages for $89 and $99, and you can add formal shoes for $12. Then you can wear it again during the cruise formal nights, and leave it in your stateroom upon disembarkation.
