Which fares can be upgraded?

Looking to book an October cruise. With all the different fares available now, just wondering what my choices would be. If I book an inside now, and the price drops, can I upgrade to an ocean view? The early saver rate is no longer available, so I know I can't book a price protection rate. I just didn't know how restrictive they are about changing cabins with the other fares. Thanks!

As long as you're willing to pay more, and there are cabins available, I don't think Carnival has any restrictions on upgrades. "Complimentary" (when the price of a higher cabin drops to what you paid or below) upgrades might not be as easy, but I'm sure it's been done.

there is no cruiseline that won't upgrade you if you pay them more
