rubinstein2r Posted August 17, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2013 We will be in Cartagena in January on Celebrity Equinox. We don't want to see a monastery, church, emerald "museum" or fort. We want to see the REAL Cartagena, where people live, where people shop, a REAL museum, etc. Dora has told me she will not adapt her tour to our request. Suggestions welcome, please. Azulann Posted August 18, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 18, 2013 Well, I suggest you buy a Moon or Rough Guide travel book to Columbia. Columbia government web site or go to Slow traveller web site. do some reseach and then decide what area of Cartegna you want to visit. Get a taxi at the pier and show him your list. Or you can find a private guide with car to drive you around and give you a history of the city and the different neighborhood. But you will have to get off CC and do some in depht reseach on other web sites. We did that in Mexico City and it was a fascinating day. good luck on your reseach. As to the real people ,you diffinitely will see real people in Cartegna on any street. :)
