Flying out of Southampton

Could anyone tell me the earliest time to fly out of Heathrow when we are docking in Southampton at 5:30AM during the summer months?

Does anyone know if we can choose seats on British Aiways at the time we make the reservation without incurring a fee? On their website, it talks about paying for seats if we want to sit together.

Slightly confusing topic as you're not flying out of SOU/Southampton (which is a small airport).

However, given the size and scope of LHR/Heathrow, the distance from Southampton (about 70 miles) and the fact you're likely flying back to the USA (which insists on extra security), I wouldn't want to be on a flight before noon at the earliest. Docking at 0530 doesn't mean off the ship at 0530.
