lawgirl Posted August 18, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 18, 2013 Hey there! Is Limoncello offered onboard? I think so. Wondering the cost for a shot and if it is included in Classic Bev. Package? I had this great Limoncello martini...basically vodka and Limoncello. Wonder if they can make that for me at Equinox Martini Bar and if it is within the cost constraints of the Classic Beverage Package? Of course, most of my money will be spent drinking Lucky Cats at the Molecular Bar which are NOT included in my free beverage package!!! They are YUMMY! You can upgrade your package for $11.50/day and is well worth it and then all of the drinks at the Molecular Bar are covered. You can do it ahead of time or at any bar. We do it after getting on board so we can use SBC if we have any. . .

But I think both of us need to do it and DH drinks beer and plain old margaritas! I think you can only upgrade for whole cruise too. If I am stuck drinking limoncello shots and sex on the beaches during the day and prosecco by night (with a few Lucky Cats) I will somehow survive! I don't recall ever drinking more than one there. I think the drinks in the Molecular bar still have room for improvement. Too much fruit and sweet stuff. midwestchick Posted August 18, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 18, 2013 I love linomcello straight up on ice. Had it for the first time last year in Sorrento. We ended up bringing home 2 bottles from the duty free at the Rome airport. One plain and on cream linoncello. Love that stuff and the prices were great at the airport. If you wait until you are on board you can upgrade only one of you (I've heard mixed results doing it online). You can upgrade at anytime during the cruise but before the cutoff which is usually 2 days before disembarkationl If you have only one drink per day in the Molecular bar you will have paid for the upgrade. I tried almost all of them because It was there and I had the package. I didn't find any worth drinking for the calories and certainly would have really been disappointed if I paid $12. I usually took a drink or so and then left it. If someone followed me they could have got a lot of free drinks. I found most of the drinks in the bars sound good but I guess that I prefer the standard classic drinks. And by classic I don't mean the drinks in the classic package. . I'd guess this is happening in most other cities around the US, and it is about time since our chain restaurants are so bad. X could improve their Molecular drinks if they would visit a couple of these places and copy their recipes. X could improve their Molecular drinks if they would visit a couple of these places and copy their recipes. The drinks here a pretty good. http://cityhousenashville.com/menu/ Just last month Celebrity announced in a Press Release their new Craft Cocktails that were being implemented...and I think someone posted recently that Junior Merino recently stated that he was adding new drinks to the Molecular Bar too....anyone seen these new Craft Cocktails on-board any of the ships yet ? Here is the press release: Celebrity Cruises Mixes It Up Modern Luxury Style, Complementing Molecular And Martini Bars With New Craft Cocktails Email JULY 19, 2013 Modern luxury line Celebrity Cruises is shaking up the bar scene onboard by significantly expanding its selections of the beverage world's favorite comeback kid - the cocktail - with a selection of 30 entirely new craft cocktails offered exclusively on Celebrity's ships. Already known for its popular Molecular and Martini Bars, Celebrity's new craft cocktail experience was developed through an alliance with artisanal cocktail developers Hawthorn Beverage Group, founded by noted cocktail creator Josh Durr. The new craft cocktails blend vintage-style liqueurs with fresh ingredients, organic juices and the finest artisanal spirits, resulting in a combination of new-school libations and updated old-school favorites. A new line-up of "zero-proof" (non-alcoholic) cocktails also will be introduced - 'Sparkling Mint Lemonade' or 'Raspberry Fizz,' anyone? - along with an assortment of fine wines by the glass. Celebrity's current list of international beer selections will be expanded, too, to join Celebrity's industry-first offering of craft beers in an even more well-rounded variety of styles, from pale ales and IPA's to Belgian ales and premium lagers. "Together with Josh Durr and the highly skilled mixologists at Hawthorn, we worked to create flavor profiles that vacationers will thoroughly enjoy, while also focusing on the details, quality of ingredients, and craftsmanship," said Celebrity's manager of Beverage Development Chanelle Duarte. "Through our creative guidance and the methodical specifications of Josh and his team, Celebrity is 'stirring up' an authentic, trend-forward craft cocktail bar experience for our guests." Growing up in a culture tied to the bourbon distilleries of Kentucky, Durr's passion for the art of spirits mixology began at a young age, ultimately inspiring him to pursue a career that fully immersed him in the craft. He has since been honored with a "Rising Star Award" from Cheers magazine, and editorial recognition in The New York Times, Playboy, Forbes, Wine Spectator, Chicago magazine and Cheers magazine, and has landed a client list that includes Apiary, Diageo, Pernod, Remy Cointreau and Ruth's Chris, among others. Durr attributes his success to focusing on three key pillars: staying relevant and ahead of trends, masterfully developing cocktail programs to provide brand-unique experiences, and joining forces with staff to execute the programs with precise attention to detail and quality. Celebrity's guests will have the opportunity to indulge in the full, new craft cocktail experience across its modern luxury fleet by the end of 2013. Looking forward to feedback...and sampling in person soon !! Woody

They had limoncello when we were on the Silhouette (Italy and Croatia) in 2012. It was not available in all bars however. My DH tried to order it after dinner in Qsine, and the bar waitress (terrible service from her all evening) told us that she would have to go to the Ensemble bar to get some. When it didn't come after 2 requests, my husband went out to the Ensemble bar and got it for himself. He can't remember the exact price, but is sure it wasn't more than $8.00. To the original question...Don't know if all the bars have it, but I do know that the Tuscan Grille has a Signature Cocktail that features limoncello...so it is available somewhere !! We had the opposite experience in the Molecular Bar. DW wanted her wine which they do not serve. The only bartender/waiter went to another bar to get what she wanted. That is service!!!!!!!! akowilm Posted August 19, 2013 #15 Share Posted August 19, 2013 For the price of one Lucky Cat (YUMMY!) per night, you can upgrade your package to Premium. Then you can have all the limoncello you want, you can try the Tanned Russian(YUMMY) along with the rest of the Molecular Bar menu, and even have some nifty martinis at the martini bar! From my understanding, you can upgrade on board for just one with no problem. We have always done both of us, and DH was glad he did!!

We were on the Equinox and had the beverage package included for our cruise. We found the martini bar the first day while onboard. The guys there are fantastic at recommending drinks that fit into the classic beverage package. I asked the waiter to bring me something not too sweet - and he came back with a lemon drop without the sugared rim. It was the best lemon drop ever -- might be just what you are describing. Maybe it did have lemoncello in it -- always think of Princess for that brand, though. If you want the top shelf alcohol, you may have to upgrade to the premium package, but for us, a smaller martini with the regular alcohol brands just fit the bill. Sherman78 Posted August 19, 2013 #18 Share Posted August 19, 2013 I had limoncello last year on the Solstice with the Classic Bev. Package. I'm not sure what bar would normally carry it (if any). I asked the sommelier in Blu if there was anywhere on the ship I could get it and they got it for me.
Waihekean Posted August 19, 2013 #19 Share Posted August 19, 2013 I had limoncello on the Exquinox last year. They had to go and find some and sometimes took a while, but got it each time. Can not remember the exact price, but is defenitely not top price.

HappyTvlr Posted September 4, 2013 #23 Share Posted September 4, 2013 Yeah... But I think both of us need to do it and DH drinks beer and plain old margaritas! I think you can only upgrade for whole cruise too. If I am stuck drinking limoncello shots and sex on the beaches during the day and prosecco by night (with a few Lucky Cats) I will somehow survive! I can tell you for sure that you do not both have to upgrade. I called to upgrade and was asked if it was just for me or both parties. Also, as others have stated you can do it onboard for the same price so waiting to see if it is best for you may be the right answer. After cruising w/premium, there is no other way for us. Enjoy!
