waster666 Posted August 19, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2013 Is there a mini-fridge for personal use in the inside cabins on Divina, just to keep water cold at night? Also, is there many electrical sockets in the room? One last question while I think of it, what's the weather like on board? I've never been on a cruise before and looking up weather reports for our destination ports it'll be hot and sunny, but does being on a moving vessel at sea mean that it will be windy and cold? Apologies if that doesn't make any sense!
Skipper Tim Posted August 19, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 19, 2013 Is there a mini-fridge for personal use in the inside cabins on Divina, just to keep water cold at night? Yes, all cabins have a mini-fridge. If you find it overly-full and don't intend buying any of its contents, ask your cabin attendant to clear it. If you don't see your cabin attendant, then ask at reception. Also, is there many electrical sockets in the room? You should find at least two of each (continental European & U.S.). One last question while I think of it, what's the weather like on board? I've never been on a cruise before and looking up weather reports for our destination ports it'll be hot and sunny, but does being on a moving vessel at sea mean that it will be windy and cold? Apologies if that doesn't make any sense! In an inside cabin, you are assured of no rain or wind. You didn't actually say where you will be or when! Generally at sea, on average the wind will increase by the speed of the ship - 20-25 mph. However, if the true wind is behind, there may be no apparent wind at all. Deck space is cleverly designed to shield you from the worst of it and there will be very few places on deck that you can experience the full force of the apparent wind. waster666 Posted August 19, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted August 19, 2013 Thank you Skipper Tim, you have been very helpful. I can't wait until after my cruise when I'll be able to help on this forum instead of just asking questions! I'll be sailing the Eastern Med on Sept 7th with my partner (he will undoubtedly contribute to some wind in the cabin haha) I've only ever been on a car ferry and the gusts of wind on the outside top deck would send you flying, so I guess it's definitely not going to be that bad?! The Adriatic should be hot in early September, and the Aegean, hot, hot, hot! At sea, you will be grateful for the warm breeze but on land prepare to be baked :) It should be wonderful. I am sure you will enjoy it.
AmoMondo Posted August 19, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 19, 2013 A lot of the sailing will be done overnight whilst you're tucked up in your cabin asleep or perhaps rattling around in the disco or casino to the wee hours. Most Y during the day you are in port and off the ship. It can get a bit breezy at times especially on the upper decks but if it is you cN easily navigate around all the public areas, restaurants and bars without venturing outside. If it gets really windy (not so likely at the time of year you are going), they'll put up warnings or even bar some of the doors to open decks for safety reasons.
