Aft junior suite on Enchantment?

Does anyone have any experience with the aft junior suites on Enchantment? We're booked for one on deck 8 next year, but I'm wondering if there are any drawbacks. Having a bigger balcony and view seems too good to be true.

Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks in advance!

We are coming up on our third trip in the Enchantment, first was a mid ship Jr Suite, the second was Aft Jr Suite, and the one coming up is an Aft Jr Suite.

They are very, very nice.

The two main criticisms are 1) vibration- I've noted this before in other ships as well, but it does not bother us, and I seem to sleep really really well. 2) Soot- some have had it bad, we've had a little- not enough to bother, and it's cleaned up every day.

On 2- a recent trip on the Oasis gave us a little tid bit of info- that RCI is equipping all ships with scubbers over the next two years. Something I was hoping for (and considered making a company and bidding on, FWIW) after seeing the Enchantment control room. I will find out on the trip about the timing of that on the Enchantment.

Some others complain about walking distance. Eh. It also means that very few people will be walking anywhere near you.

One other benefit we liked about the aft vs midship- deck 8 noise. Over the aft is the spa, which is always quiet, but is also closed at night. Vs pools and outside deck areas for many of the mid ship cabins.

I did a cabin crawl in one. never wanted to leave that balcony...... there as enough room to hold the entire group of us comfortably.. about a dozen or so.

the only drawback is you do not get access to the CL unless otherwise qualified.

Been on Enchantment 2x both in an aft JS...LOVED IT!! The ship is not really that big so the walk was not a problem at all...prefer deck 8 over deck 7 so as to not be over the lounge...only once did we hear music on our balcony from there...but not bad at all! Would pick an aft JS over a side any day!

Is it mostly the balcony that makes these so great. There was another thread about this where there were a lot of negatives.

I recently upgraded to a JS and decided against an aft cabin on deck 7, and went with a mid ship cabin on deck 8. Of course, it's only my second cruise and any balcony is going to seem great - and being solo - I don't really need all the space on the balcony.

Have had 2 different Aft JS's on Enchantment, and not all of them are created equally.

8670 - preferred this cabin - it felt more spacious - furniture not all crammed together

7666 - balcony SO big... but it was the walk in closet that blew us away!

Was very careful to stay away from the bandstand in Spotlight lounge. At the end of a long day... that hallway is SUPER long.

Yes we had JS AFT on deck 8 in April onboard Enchantment. We didn't notice the vibration or sewer smell which people have mentioned in other posts!

The bigger balcony consists of table, 2 chairs, 2 sun loungers.

Did we use it? Only for breakfast when we had it delivered 3 times. Didn't use the sun loungers at all.

As well as the bigger balcony we had a wider room which was great, loads of storage, an iPad, bath, kettle. These were used more than the balcony.

Wow. Thank you all SO much for the information!

At first, I was really excited to learn that we were able to snare an aft JS. But then I started to read some negatives from other people, and I started worrying. When it comes to travel (or anything, really), I worry excessively! I feel so much better now.

We did an aft JS on the Grandeur, which is a sister ship. The room was great as everyone has said. We hit rough seas and we felt it much worse. We have cruised 20+ times and that is the only time any of us has gotten sea sick. That being said, you shouldn't have that on the Bahamas run on the Enchantment.

I had aft JS 7670 3 weeks ago. Loved the balcony which we used often. The only downsize was hearing the quest in the spotlight at 11pm. We did not have an ipad in our room. We did not have a walk-in closet but the storage layout was better that the 2 other EN JS I had sailed in the past

One morning we had a little soot on the chairs that I wiped off with a towel.

1 year ago (pre-drydock) we had RFS 8666. Thats a balcony to die for. My pics are here

remember that this is before the drydock where they updated the carpets and upholstery
