Allure - would you pay...

Recommended Posts

$1,600 total for two, to go from a B1 to a suite GTY. Not sure if it makes any difference but right now there is only one JS left. Would that give me a better chance to get more than a JS? I know it's a gamble with a gty so I guess I'd have to be happy paying $1,700pp for a JS (or above if lucky).

JS (someone correct me if I am wrong) does not get you double points or any lounge access (if you are not already Diamond or higher). A little bit more cabin space at over $200 per day seems like a lot for very little. To answer your question, no I would not spend the money on that upgrade.

You do get double points for a JS.

The only person that can answer this is you. I'm cruising solo in a suite and wouldn't hesitate to spend the money. Others think that is wasteful and exorbitant. Some people stay at a discount hotel the night before the cruise, others get an oceanfront suite.

There is no way anyone on here can tell you how much you feel comfortable spending....

I'm not sure with your message exactly what you meant .... BUT, you DO get double points with a JS first of all. Secondly, I booked a gty JS ... never got upgraded to the GS, but got a great location on the hump. We always book JSs, mostly because we love the extra room. And, you DO get priority boarding which is nice. I also think there are a few other little perks too, no conciege (sp?) like with the GS and above, but that stuff doesn't matter to us. If it's $1600 for 2 total, that is a STEAL for a JS on the Allure! We thought we got a great deal a year and 1/2 ago on the Oasis for $1600pp. I would go for it ... but that's me! :)

We got the B1 for $900pp and the W would be an additional $720pp. The double points doesn't matter to me but I think I'll watch the prices as we are happy with our B1, though more space is enticing....

My opinion: I absolutely would not pay $1600 to move to a GS from a Boardwalk Balcony on the Allure or Oasis. More than most ships, you will be out and about and experiencing all that the ship has to offer.

:)

JMHO

YMMV

If there is only 1 JS left, they may upgrade those that paid full price for a JS, to give the suite gtys' a JS....just a thought! I love JS's.....much more comfortable than a standard cabin.

There may be 1 JS showing as sellable.. BUt RCI may have blocked a number of JS for GTY bookings.

And some of those people have $1000 bar tabs. Once in a great while I'd pay $1600 more for the Loft Suite.
