SAS Transportation

I called today to confirm my reservation with them for this Friday (reservation made 2 months ago...so just checking to make sure we are all good) and got a voice message that the office is closed today. No alternate info/numbers to call for help, nada. HUH?

Since I only saw one phone number for them on my confirmation email and their website, what if I were at an airport today contacting them for pickup? Sorry, we are closed today.....oh well good luck to ya......

Now I'm getting a little nervous....like to cancel and go with someone else. Don't know what to do....maybe rent a car on PL to avoid standing there in the hotel lobby with no ride :(

If there are no cruises leaving today and no scheduled pick ups, then it would make sense that they aren't open. I wouldn't worry about it. Just call tomorrow to confirm, and maybe ask for an emergency alternate number.

Saw this post and had to comment. We have used SAS twice, each time that we flew into FLL and shuttled to POM, and never had a problem. They would ususally called me as we were headed to baggage claim before I could call them for the pickup. Best value for the money and the service is good.

We have used SAS several times from FLL to Miami and they have been great. Try them again tomorrow; maybe they schedule days off on days there isn't cruise transportation needed.

They have always been prompt, courteous, and professional for us.

I do understand - I get in stress mode a few days before cruising, trying to make sure everything is done.

Good luck, and have a great cruise!

We have used SAS many many times and never had a problem.

If there are no cruises leaving and no one scheduled for any kind of pick up then they do close the office.

Steve and his guys are great and professional.

They are our "go to" transportation in Ft. Lauderdale.

Try emailing them.

But no worries..if you have a reservation than you are all set.

Thanks everyone....

I've used them twice before a few years ago myself but you never know how things change in a few years.

I will call again tomorrow. This was just my last thing to confirm before leaving :o

  • 1 month later...

We have used SAS in the past and they were great. We booked them again for March 2014 as we will be staying in Ft. Lauderdale before our cruise. Now we are looking for recommendations on getting from Miami Airport to our hotel in Ft. Lauderdale. Also need to get from POM to Miami Airport. Any help would be appreciated.

POM to MIA just take a taxi. They have a flat rate.

We are flying into miami for our cruise. and flying home from FLL. Will SAS do a pickup from Miami port and take us to FLL even though we did not use them round trip? Also, what time should we ask for pickup from the port?

We have used them for one way transportation. They know what time to be there and usually have several vans in the area. We haven't waited more than 10 minutes for them. They'll give you a number to call when you clear customs.

Thanks! I sent them an email kind of late last night.... checked my email this morning and Steve had already responded with the info that I needed.. at 3:40 am. 15pp... not bad at all... I sent him the rest of the info that he needed to complete our reservation. And also asked how we will recognize their van/shuttle. Haven't checked my email in a couple of hours.. response is probably already there.

SAS no longer offers service to Miami Airport or hotels in the MIA area.

What would you suggest for a single female arriving at FLL at 20.50 pm needing to go to the Comfort Suites Miami Airport North???

I would suggest staying at a hotel in Ft Lauderdale since you arrive late and then going to Miami the next day.

It's not for me, it's for a client flying in from Europe. The entire group is booked (and paid) in the hotel in Miami and cruising the following day, so she needs to travel to Miami that same night.

Anyone having suggestions other than taking a taxi?
