INeedAMaiTai Posted August 22, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 22, 2013 How long has that been around? When did it come into practice? From what I read, it doesn't seem to give you very much, but it seems like a nice addition.

As a US person, if you buy Princess Insurance you get it upgraded to the next level free. You also get 10% off the Reflections DVD and thats about it. There is also no 'welcome back' cocktail party, that starts at Gold.
paul929207 Posted August 22, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 22, 2013 They divided Gold into two categories. Gold is now for passengers who have completed 1 or 2 cruises on Princess and less than 30 days. The new category, Ruby, is for passengers who have completed either at least 3 cruises or 30 days on Princess and who have not completed 5 cruises or 50 days. All the other categories are unchanged
Cruisers from MA Posted August 22, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 22, 2013 My wife and I booked last month's Sapphire Princess Inside Passage Southbound as Golds (4 cruises completed) in Spring, 2012. As the embarkation date approached, I noticed in Cruise Personalizer that we were listed as Medallion, and saw that we had Princess-paid upgraded insurance. Aboard ship, our cabin's nametag was red in color. However we were issued gold cruise cards. Checking princess.com while aboard, I saw that the designation Medallion had changed to Ruby. And then soon after the cruise, our fifth, I checked and saw we're now Platinum. :)
