ChelseainFL Posted August 22, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 22, 2013 If you log in to carnival.com, there will be a link in manage my cruise, under your booking number, showing you how much the fees are. I BELIEVE (please don't quote me, you'll have to check with carnival) that when I clicked that link a few weeks ago just for kicks, it was right before my final payment date and it said we could cancel for a full refund. Call your PVP or travel agent.
Sparky2 Posted August 22, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 22, 2013 No charge. You will receive full deposit back. True, unless you booked Early Saver.
paulgraff Posted August 22, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted August 22, 2013 and if I booked early saver what is the fee? Thanks PG
jenng1976 Posted August 22, 2013 #6 Share Posted August 22, 2013 The answer will depend on what rate you booked: If you booked Early Saver - your initial deposit (-$50/cabin fee) will NOT be refunded, but instead saved for a future cruise within 2 years. Most other rates (Past Guest, Fall & Winter sale, etc) - you will get all your money back. I think there's some guarantee cabin rates that have a non-refundable deposit as well, but no positive about that. To check ... you can go online to Manage Your Cruise, and click "Is there a penalty for cancelling this booking?" and it will tell you how much it will cost you. Or give Carnival a call. Sorry you have to cancel a cruise! Good luck! Jenn haha ... everyone was much quicker than me in replying!!

Jenn Not really sorry I have to cancel as this is what happened. My wife and I booked a cruise on the Sunshine for March of 14 as this is Mardi Gras here in NO and a good time for me to travel. Well my parents just told us they are taking us on a trip for xmas 13 (yeah parents) so we want to mover our trip back to sometime in the summer. So this is a good problem to have!!! cruisecraze96 Posted August 22, 2013 #8 Share Posted August 22, 2013 Sounds like then worst case would be 50 pp per cabin then if you have the Early Saver and the rest would go toward your deposit on the summer cruise. I had also clicked on the link under manage my cruise for grins and giggles to check what would happen if I cancel :) and it came back as zero since I booked a Fall Savings rate and I was before my final payment window. Don't forget the Sunshine is moving to PC so moving to summer out of NO will put you on the Dream or you will have to fly into Florida.

Well, that's good then! :) In that case, I would recommend cancelling the one cruise and rebooking the other in the same call, that way they will just transfer the deposits over (- $50/person). If you don't do it at the same time, you'll have to pay the deposit on the new cruise, and the original deposit money would go towards the balance of the new cruise later, if that makes sense, haha. And parents are great! I'm cruising with mine in Dec on Imagination. Jenn :)
