Explorer Deck 7 Aft Balcony Question

Recommended Posts

Am thinking of taking an aft balcony cabin on deck 7 or 8 and need help. From pictures it appears that the structure of the ship extends beyond and above the balcony. If this is true does it obstruct the view from the balcony? The cabins are adjacent to the JS's and are not the end ones.

Had 7688/7388 for our first three cruises.

LOVE it.

Sure, there are obstructions, but the advantages far outweigh the slight downside.

Go for it.

You also cannot look directly down to the water, as the staterooms are set back from the edge of the ship. However, the balconies are much larger than other balconies in the same stateroom class.

I have had 7688 and 9690 on Voyager class ships. I purposely avoided the corner on deck 8 because it has a door (partial glass) rather than a sliding glass door - pics make room seem very dark:(.

You can go to voyager-class.com and see a good range of pics.

I love the corners because of the range of view you get - the 'obstruction' actually seems to disappear over time, so I don't even consider it a factor in my choice.

It is a pretty long walk back to the aft, but it is also very quiet back there;).

Here are some pics from deck 7 aft corner and deck 9 aft corner.

The first two are from Explorer #7688 and the second two are from Adventure #9690
