Sailingpeace Posted August 23, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 23, 2013 We are looking at a 14 days Carribean cruise in Jan or Feb 2015. Can be done as a 14 days or as two 7 days. Same cabin is available for both segments. ( we would NOT want to have to change cabins mid-cruise). I am Platinum, and DH and I have 2 FCC each baught on our cruise last February ( thank you CC for advice on buying those). No other OBC possible ( not military - and by the way, highest respect to those who are or were ). I believe I read a post about more chance of price reduction on 7days than on 14 ( Pia's advice I believe... Hi Pia). As price of booking separately is a little higher, is it still a better gamble ( I understand this would not be a guaranteed strategy) to book as two 7 days ? Thank you for the advice. AKman2495 Posted August 24, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 24, 2013 I would book it as a 14 day (in fact I already did!) You can book it as two 7 days if you are sure you can lock in the same room for both legs. But, I would opt for the cheapest option at this point. It appears that for my cruise there is a few hundred dollars difference between the 14 day and the more expensive two 7 day cruises.
OCruisers Posted August 24, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 24, 2013 May seem like a silly reason to some ... but I like to only have ONE booking number for the 14 night rather than two for the 7 night B2B. Also, I only have to use one FCC. LuLu ~~~~
paul929207 Posted August 24, 2013 #6 Share Posted August 24, 2013 If you are a shareholder of Carnival Corp, you get $100 for each seven day leg or $250 for one 14-day cruise.

Princess Chatterer Posted August 24, 2013 #8 Share Posted August 24, 2013 Not a consideration. They can get two cruise credits either way. I'm not so sure about two cruise credits for one long cruise. I now always book B2B for two minibar setups, more OBCs, and more cruise credits. The OBCs more than offset the B2B pricing. And yes, it's true that there's more chance of taking advantage of fare drops on B2Bs than one long cruise. Either way your Internet minutes will reset at the transition point. Yes, you can get credit for 2 cruises on the 14 day cruise. We do it all the time. We just call Princess when we get home and ask that they give us credit for 2 seven day cruises and it's done. Was just going to suggest the same thing...just call Captains Circle and they will give you the credit for the second cruise.

There is generally a small discount to book as 1 cruise. You would only use up one of your FCCs, do the math
