caribill Posted August 28, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 28, 2013 Pia will have a "live from" for the cruise that starts September 27.
dmwnc1959 Posted August 28, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 28, 2013 Since the LIVE thread from Pia and all of the really GREAT folks on the Transatlantic will be fairly extensive I most likely won't do one myself for the time I am on her in the Caribbean. However, I had planned on doing an Embarkation Day and Sail Away LIVE thread in Fort Lauderdale if it hadn't been done by that time. I'll also try and post some updates from St. Thomas (both times) with info on entertainment and menus etc. since that may be different for a 7-nt Caribbean cruise than it would be for the Grand Mediterranean and T/A. But, that's a loooong time away. I just hope I make it until then. 95 Days and counting and still looking forward to Royal Princess!!! :D:D:D
waltd Posted August 28, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 28, 2013 You could pick just one aspect of the ship and give us a live. Fun to have an in depth review of one of the new restaurants bars, or outside areas. Doesn't have to be a full trip.

Fun to have an in depth review of one of the new restaurants bars, or outside areas. Doesn't have to be a full trip. I do have plans on hitting every bar and eating establishment on Royal Princess during my short 14-nights on her. As we all know, opinions on food are rather subjective as indicated on a recent thread that compares Princess and RCI. Last year I did a B2B on Allure of the Seas followed by the Ruby Princess. The food in the first week was far better than the second week; everything from Tapas and pizza to the sushi and buffet was just better. Even the specialty restaurants were much better. But that is just my point of view. I guess we'll have to see what happens when I get on Royal Princess. I may be so excited I'll break down and do an entire LIVE thread. That happened a few years back when I did a B2B on Celebrity Millennium. I had not planned on doing anything, and the day before I flew down to Miami got motivated and did my first ever LIVE thread. It turned out pretty well. ;)

sunsetbeachgal Posted August 28, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 28, 2013 Having done one, I can attest that the Internet on boArd is slow and I didnt want to spend my time ashore looking for free wifi...when accessing Cruise Critic it was especially slow...I went through all of my 250 Platinum minutes and most of my DH's. Thank goodness it wasn't football season yet or he would have used his up for Fantasy Football!
Pia1913 Posted August 28, 2013 #8 Share Posted August 28, 2013 Yes, I will start one for our 30 days on Sept. 27th, but you had better look for something from Dave, since mine will have very little to do with food. :D

dmwnc1959 Posted August 29, 2013 #16 Share Posted August 29, 2013 We are booked for December 15 and hope Dave will post his experiences. Karen I'll try and post as much useful information as possible. The big differences may come in how things are timed onboard Royal Princess for her Caribbean season as compared to the previous 4-1/2 months when the cruises were much longer and more port intensive. As I mentioned before, hopefully someone on the Nov. 3rd cruise can post the 7-nt cruise Princess Patters when they return. That would be enormously helpful to those who are preparing to cruise Royal Princess in the months following, and then I can update any changes during the two weeks I am on her. Northender Posted August 29, 2013 #17 Share Posted August 29, 2013 Dave, we will be on the Oct. 9th sailing (as you well know:D), so I think it would be interesting to have your "live from" regarding the Carib type cruises. I know you will give an overall experience and somehow I feel that the Royal sailing the Caribbean will be in our future.:D
