"LIVE" from Grandeur of the Seas - Aug 30, 2013

Me too.

Although I know from previous experience that on our cruise the pool will be empty (it will be cold) and at 6 pm it will be dark so we probably won't see the Bay Bridge. The only really good photos I have even of the Key Bridge were when our ship was delayed and we boarded the day after we were to have left and the ship left at noon instead of 4.

Great pics Radio!

Could you take some photos of your bathroom? Interested to see if the new sink is like the one we had on Enchantment earlier this year. It was a vessel type sink that sat on top of the counter. Thanks!

The ship looks great,,they did a wonderful job fixing her up and updating:)..

As always, your reviews are fun to read,,makes me want to go on all the ships in the fleet( I wish).. You spoke about Giovannia's,,we ate there on the Oasis last Jan. and yes,,,totally agree the food is really, really good..and being of Italian heritage I can vouch for that,,will miss G's on our upcoming cruise on the Freedom in Jan.

We sailed to Bermuda twice some years ago on the Home Line cruises,,,Italian ship and crew,,we docked in Hamilton for the 4days and really enjoyed,,haven't been back since.

But being we live in Fla. and so close to FLL and Canaveral it spoils us as far as getting on a plane and flying north:cool:..Maybe one day we will go back,,great place to visit..

So happy sailing to you and Mrs.Radio,,,and as usual love your reviews........

Bon Voyage Radio!

Is the boarding process the same, shuttled by bus to the ship, parking

being outside etc.

)

good heavens no. the parking lots is adjacent to the terminal and it takes all of three minutes to walk to the front doors, even from the far end. parking is outside, and the only time I'd worry is if you are sailing in the winter( stick a shovel and an ice scraper in the trunk, just in case)

Checking in to tag along ... still 15 weeks away from my encore cruise on the Grandeur. We were on the last Panama sailing last year and the 3-day repo to Miami. We're eager to check out the ship since the refurb. Love the room pix. Those nice airy curtains look like a big improvement from the old heavy draperies.

OK ... here comes the REALLY important question. Are the couches and bedding runners green in the JS cabins too? (You know you're going to walk by them on deck 8 at some point and peek in the open doors.) Inquiring minds who are trying to determine how to decorate for Christmas need this vital data.

Radio, enjoying your review so far. Thanks for taking the time to do this.

One question, if you can find out, but don't go out of your way. After all, this is your vacation. Anyway, if you get a chance to talk to Daryl, AD, could you ask him when he will return from his vacation? I know he leaves soon for his time off. Don't know how long they are away on vacation. I just wondered if he will be back for our Oct. 17th cruise. If not, hopefully, he will be back for our Thanksgiving cruise. Thanks. But, please don't go out of your way to ask him. It is really not that important. Enjoy your cruise with your wife. That it the important thing. ;)

Gwen :)

The press room usually opens by 5am?!?!

The newscast is running late or Radio is low on Starbucks!

Hope Casino Royale was "Radio Friendly" last night!!!

Have a super day onboard :) :)

Hello everyone. . . Good Morning, and Welcome to Day 2 of “LIVE” from Grandeur of the Seas. The sun is up, and we are steaming ahead at 21kts toward our destination in Bermuda. We still have 460nm to go before we arrive.

After my post last night, I walked around for a bit and must have been really wired. I thought I was supposed to be sleepy since the first day is often the most tiring. Maybe the coffee wired me up a little much. I was finally able to watch some news for a while, and I woke promptly at 5AM. Perfect . . . maybe I am back on schedule.

We went up to get a little coffee, and noticed that not many passengers were up yet . . . Who would have thought ? It was nice not to have to wait in line for some fried eggs (over medium) It was very calm in the Windjammer this morning.

Today is a day that will be full of Activities for our first day at sea. Tonight is also the Captains Gala Event for our first formal night in the Great Gatsby MDR. Tonight will be a night of Motown with the Divas of Motown starring the Royal Caribbean singers and dancers. NCAA Football (Georgia VS Clemson) will be featured on the big screen (Poolside) this evening. I was hoping for a full length feature film. . .maybe tomorrow.

My expectations for Casino Royale were exceeded as it appears that is was very “Radio Friendly” last night. I may have to visit her often for this sailing. Tonight they are offering a chance to gamble with CD John in a slot tournament. That might me something to consider.

Here are a few pics from this morning . . .I will be back this afternoon with more pics !

Thank you,

This is good to know. I will have to try doing a cruise out of Baltimore, sound better than Cape Liberty as far as the port goes.

We like sailing out of Cape Liberty because it is so close to home.

The only thing is the port, just hate it. (Got too spoiled by the Florida ports)

I heard that with Quantum Of The Seas coming out next year they will be redoing the port in Cape Liberty. Just wishing that they will go all out and do the same thing they did in Ft. Lauredale with Oasis and Allure,

a brand new dock, this would be so nice. ( Just wishing right??)
