Transferring balance to another cruise instead of canceling - are there penalti

If we find that we are not able to take a cruise currently booked and almost paid in full.

Can we transfer the amount paid to another cruise with same cruiseline without penalty?

 

 

This would be before final payment.

Assuming this is before final payment, since you are in the US you should be able to transfer to another Celebrity cruise. However, if booked with an outside agent check to see if they have a penalty. Most do not charge a penalty to move the cruise to another date.

From an Australian perspective, we just changed our booking from Easter 2014 to pre-Christmas 2013 and Celebrity transferred all that I had paid (which was not in full) onto the new booking, even the money I had paid for the Bar set up. Easy!

Yes, no problems. We did it a couple of weeks ago rather than taking the hit on the Cdn. exchange.

We're from the UK and have just transferred a cruise from Azamara to Celebrity and were charged £75 each administration fee.

Yep, we recently transferred a cruise for next year from Infinity to Eclipse, and had to pay £75ea transfer fee.

Have you explored booking with a US Travel Agent and getting the better terms and conditions as well as things like OBC, free speciality meals, credit towards gratuities etc. ??

 

We just booked the 18 Sept wine cruise for £519 per person (it was £611 if we booked in the UK) and were given $150 OBC
