asalligo Posted August 30, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 30, 2013 Good evening, I have just booked a new cruise and I am hoping someone can point me to an in depth tutorial on how to watch for and get credit for a price drop. Right now, the only method I know of is to go through the motions of booking the same cruise and seeing if the price is lower, but I get the feeling from the boards that there is a much more sophisticated method. Thanks, Anthony

Thanks, Anthony Anthony, A lot of people use Fare Viewer rather than completing a faux booking. I might use it for a quick check, but if it looks like it is worth it after looking at Fare Viewer, i'll go do a mock booking to be sure I'm comparing apples to apples. Fare Viewer is pretty self explanatory. You can access it at: http://www.carnival.com/BookingEngine/FareViewer/ Good luck in watching for a price drop:D

goingsailing Posted August 30, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 30, 2013 Thanks for asking this. I just booked another cruise but couldn't remember where to keep track of the price drop if any. Thanks again.

asalligo Posted August 30, 2013 Author #8 Share Posted August 30, 2013 Fareviewer does not appear to work for 5 passengers. No rates available for your selections. Please enter your sailing information to see up-to-date fares.
asalligo Posted August 30, 2013 Author #9 Share Posted August 30, 2013 I see my mistake, each room was booked seperately and must be priced in the same manner. Thanks
asalligo Posted August 30, 2013 Author #10 Share Posted August 30, 2013 Wow, so right off the bat fareviewer is quoting me a price about $400 below what I booked at yesterday. So now I guess I need to research how to apply for OBC.

So now I guess I need to research how to apply for OBC. Make sure you're looking at the same category that you're booked at as well. For example, if one of your rooms is a 2 person 6C, you can only match rates to another 2 person 6C, not a 2 person 6A or 6B, etc. To submit for a price drop, you can submit this form: http://www.carnival.com/BonVoyage/requestforms/cclearlysaverform.aspx OR You can call Carnival and speak to customer service. They will let you know if you qualify for a lower rate and submit for it if you do.
asalligo Posted August 30, 2013 Author #13 Share Posted August 30, 2013 I was just about to post asking for a better explanation, thanks. I knew it could not be that easy. So my price is still lower when viewing the right category, but only by around $100. I have already submitted the form, I look forward to seeing the process. Thanks

Thanks Make sure to do a screenshot of the lower rate you see. If, for some reason, you are denied the price drop, they will email you and you can reply back with your proof that the rate was lower. That happened to me last year and I ended up having to email the printscreen to 2 different departments, but I did end up getting the price drop. Good luck! Edited to add: I see you didn't answer golfadj when he asked if you actually booked ES. If you aren't ES, then you would need to call instead of using the form.
