any savings in doing before?

Do you get actual photo's or just a disc? or do you get a choice on which you want??

Ease in which to do this package and where do I go to order it?

would like any comments from someone who has used this package pro's and con's

We have made a saving when we have purchased in advance. Usually about US$50 but, on our last cruise, there was a price increase between purchasing and getting on board resulting in an even greater saving.

Purchasing in advance, usually gets you both the prints and the CD. I am not sure how consistent this is.

The biggest problem buying in advance is the short time in which you have to do it. They do not sell very far in advance. On board, it is really eay to purchase. The staff in the photoshop are only too willing to sell it to you. Getting any sense out of them about what you have purchased is much more difficult!

We think the photo package is great value. For me, it is the only way I can get my husand to have his photograph taken with me. He hates having it done but, with the package, wants to get his money's worth! The biggest "con" is that the photo shop staff, especially the management, are often pretty dreadful to deal with. At least that has been our experience and the last evening can be a difficult if there are problems.

Photo package costs for Nov 30 Eclipse:

12 digital photos = $199.95

All digital photos = $224.96

All digital photos + prints = $324.95

So where? How? Do you find out what the price is for a cruise? How far in advance can you purchase the package? Since this is purchased elsewhere not on celebrity web page who to contact to purchase package?

The following are benefits of your photo package (digital or print):

· When purchasing any size digital photo package, you will take home all the photos seen on your kiosk account and can choose which photos to keep from home.

· Photos of your children aged 21 and under, who may be traveling in a separate stateroom are included.

· Artistic borders and templates as seen on all printed photos are included.

· Digital photos are in a size and resolution that allow for printing up to 8x10.

· “Unlimited” photos means all the photos in your photo kiosk account and/or all the photo prints that YOU collect while adhering to these terms.

The following is not included with your photo package (digital or print):

· Photos of others in your party not staying in your stateroom.

· Group photos, weddings, Quinces and other special occasion photography services.

· Generic stock photos of the ship, characters, ports of call, etc.

· Any special printing or retouching requests.

For larger families traveling together across multiple staterooms, we offer a discount on Get the Picture! unlimited discs: Purchase Get the Picture! unlimited for one stateroom, and the second Get the Picture! unlimited disc is 50% off the onboard price.

For pre-cruise purchases on MyCruisePhotos.com, you may purchase the first disc online and additional discs can be purchased on board for 50% off the onboard price*.

The passenger manifest will be reviewed for all purchases, the Booking ID must match the purchasing cabins

*This offer is only available on ships that offer Get the Picture! unlimited photo packages.

I wonder what they consider a group photo? We have 2 other couples sailing with us I want to get pictures with.

In the past on Royal Caribbean they included the cruise in review in the package price. I wonder if that will be included or there will be any discount coupons in our Captain's Club coupons. I was hoping to keep it under $300 total :)

DVD not included in the price now. Sorry, cannot remember the price in US$ but I do not think the prints & CD package plus the DVD came to more than US$300. It was £216 after conversion.

We bought the package on board on the Solstice back in Aug. (Alaska) and got all the prints we cared to take, plus the CD of all of them for $300. That was $50 discount from full price of $350. It was a great deal and a wonderful way of not having to pick and choose from our pix. They were also offering 5 sheets for $100 (saving $25). Lots of fun going from venue to venue for different looks. I think we ended up with at least 50 sheets of all kinds of shots, including those crazy ones with the staff in costumes.

We found the photo staff to be very knowledgeable and friendly. We got great service and had no trouble getting our pix on the last night, although there was a line and others seemed to have some questions/trouble with what they thought they were buying.

Our price did not include the DVD.

I think if you have traveling companions or family members along, this is a great way to take home some memories. You might want to wait and see if they have any kind of a sale when you get on board.

I do not think that any sale on board will be any greater than the discount you get from buying in advance. In fact, for our last cruise, although we only purchased online about a week before the cruise, the price increased between then and the cruise. We saved twice that way. I was told that it was about $100 in total. Judging by the current prices, that was correct.

The picture package is definitely cheaper in advance, but prices have gone up so much that we may give up our habit of buying photos. Each individual picture is now $29.95! I think that's crazy- a 50% increase over our February sailing.

On our Summit cruises, they wanted $399 for the package, and it was a 7 day cruise! They told us if we wanted it for both legs of the B2B he could discount the second leg 50%. Gee, thanks.

For those who have bought the package ahead of time, how many digital photos do you end up with? If you got prints, how many prints?

I'm usually a ham and try to get lots of pictures done so I have a couple nice ones to choose from.

As many as you have taken! That can be more or less depending on how many photograph sessions you go to. You usually get more digital photos than prints because they often take multiple shots in each location but do not always print them all. If you are lucky, you get bonus shots :D. Last time we had digital photos of people we did not know and did not look anything like us on our CD !

More seriously, if you want to make sure that you have every photographon your CD, you have to be prepared to spend time checking, then time in line to tell them what is missing and then go back [usually on the final morning] to pick up the updated CD. Personally, I prefer not to worry about it as long as I have everything in print on digital.

Thanks for the info!

One more question. What kind of "case" does the CD come in? Plastic? Cardboard? or None?!

I have such luck that sometimes thing break that you wouldn't expect. Wondering if I should throw a plastic case of my own in my bag (of course, that could crack on the way there. :))

Sorry, I really cannot remember! I know that I did not worry about getting it home to the UK so it must have come in something ...
