boinger Posted September 1, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2013 Are the caves in Kopar not recommended if one is claustrophobic?
kimanjo Posted September 1, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 1, 2013 Do you mean the caves in Koper, Slovenia?? We did this when we were then on the Oceania Riviera in May. Claustrophobia might be the least of your worries. It was a long, pretty rigorous hike. DH and I are 51 and 50 in very good health and in good shape. We didn't struggle, but there were many others who worried us. Many were overweight and didn't look to good, and we wondered how help would get to them, should they need it?? Any questions, ask! kimanjo Posted September 1, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 1, 2013 Thanks kimanjo........what are the things you would recommend in Adriatic and what places would need private tour guide? We visited: Croatia Montenegro Slovenia Greece Turkey Koper is the only one that we used a guide. All the other places we literally do on our own. Public transport and touring. I can tell you what we did, but no recommendations on guides, if that's what you need. BTW We LOVED all the places we visted.

Cymro1953 Posted September 5, 2013 #6 Share Posted September 5, 2013 Hi, we did the caves as a ship's tour. You go in on a train and when there the caves are huge inside. No low ceilings. The walkway goes up and down but is flat concrete underfoot. there is a shortcut that goes through on the flat for anyone a bit less mobile who cannot manage the uphill bit. Hello Kimanjo, We will be there in June 2014, is this cave attraction a MUST see? What other options are there? Is this a possible DIY port? Thanks in advance for any input that you can provide.
