petlover Posted September 2, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2013 You all are the best and so helpful to me....the Princess Newbie. One more question please, Do you think Mini Suite E 719 (Emerald Deck) on Golden Princess could be too windy ? It is next to acabin with windows on one side but wondering even with the partion if it's enough to not be windy since it's the first balcony cabin in the row ? It's also closest to the elevator...noise? Would I be better going with a mini suite a bit more aft ? Thanks again!
Pam in CA Posted September 2, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 2, 2013 You should be fine. If it's windy, there's enough depth to the balcony to provide protection.
petlover Posted September 2, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted September 2, 2013 Thanks Pam, I think the partition will be fine but you've got a good point, the depth. I don't even know how deep the balconies are but trust you. :)
bagney Posted September 2, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 2, 2013 We had the equivalent mini suite (E721) on the Ruby Princess for a 7 day Caribbean cruise in Jan. 2012 and did not notice wind being an issue at all nor any hallway/elevator noise. We almost always opt for a mini-suite on Emerald deck on this class of ship and have had many of these mini suites without any noise/wind issues at all, even the very aft ones above Club Fusion. Our favorite cabins!
Pam in CA Posted September 2, 2013 #5 Share Posted September 2, 2013 Thanks Pam, I think the partition will be fine but you've got a good point, the depth. I don't even know how deep the balconies are but trust you. :)The balconies are 9'x7', pretty big and deep enough for protection from most wind directions. If the ship is moving, the most protected area will be right next to the partition towards the front of the ship.
KruzPrincess Posted September 2, 2013 #6 Share Posted September 2, 2013 For me, the Emerald mini's are the best because they're covered and deep. It provides good protection if that's what you want. Of course, in some places it's just plain windy or cold wherever you are. As for being close to elevators, I have never had an issue with noise being close to an elevator. petlover Posted September 2, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted September 2, 2013 Perfect, it sounds like a keeper!! I have 3 cabins on hold now. I have 2 daughters (and spouse and 2 small kids each) in balcony cabins on Caribe deck. I'm not telling them, surprise...they've only been in interior cabins on 2 previous cruises.
