jennmaybe Posted September 3, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2013 We will be in Aruba one day in December from 8am-5pm. It will be our 1st trip to Aruba & I've read all the boards, but still not sure which beach to visit. We are looking to just have a relaxing beach day. We would like a beach that isn't overloaded with the cruisers, but is also good for snorkeling. Chairs/umbrellas would be great and a beach bar pretty close by would be great too. Do you guys have any recommendations for us? We don't mind taking the bus, especially since it's really cheap, but can take a taxi somewhere as long as we won't be spending $80 or $100 round-trip. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!:)
Arubalisa Posted September 4, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 4, 2013 The only beaches which would offer snorkeling and chaise rental are Arashi and Baby Beach. You can take the public bus to both. No beach bar though at either spot. Baby beach has a snack shack which serves beer. Get there early for chaise rentals. Do a search here in the forum for info on the bus to Baby Beach or arubus.com Eagle Beach and Palm Beach will have lots of cruisers and no snorkeling at all. I was thinking Baby Beach would be an option, but wasn't positive, so that's why I was hoping one of the experts would provide some suggestions. The snack shack with beer will be perfect! That's all hubby needs to be happy while on the beach anyway.:)
jennmaybe Posted September 4, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted September 4, 2013 Take the city bus to the Marriott resort. Is there a fee for this? Is the snorkeling good?
Arubalisa Posted September 4, 2013 #6 Share Posted September 4, 2013 No snorkeling at the Marriott. There is just a plain white sandy bottom, no rocks and no coral so nowhere for the fish to hide. Not sure if there are any vendors there as well who rent chaises. The closest there is Moomba, again no snorkeling though. For what you are looking for, imo, Baby Beach is the best option. Karlou Posted September 13, 2013 #8 Share Posted September 13, 2013 You want to go to Arashi Beach for beautiful quiet relaxation. If you are interested in snorkeling, you should go to Boca Catalina or Malmock Beach which is right beside Arashi. Baby Beach is fine, but far too busy! Really any beach is great in Aruba, though. Is there a beach bar at Arashi now??? Or just chaise rentals and porta-potties?
