San Juan airport new website

As you might have heard, the SJU airport has been handed over from the Puerto Rico Ports Authority to a private management company. There are plenty of improvements on their way. Among those, they have established a new website with loads of information:

The previous website was anything but helpful. We have a few hours to kill before our flight leaves on the 22nd and it will be nice to have an idea what there is available (food wise).

Great information! Thanks so much! Do you happen to know if you can go between terminals once you are through TSA.? I am always leaving through terminal B. However, I notice that terminal C has a lot of good food options. I would like to walk from B to C for a sandwich from Subway.

That is the plan and eventually it will be like that. A central TSA checkpoint after which you can move freely from one terminal to the other. That will take some time though. I believe they're closing terminal C altogether for remodeling first, then they will do B and D. Terminal A (jetBlue) will be redone as far as easier access to/from the parking garage/new rental car facilities and also its entrance, baggage claims and exits.

 

They're redoing the whole airport over the next few years and we will appreciate everyone's patience.

Thank you for the new airport information and maps. I have a question regarding the luggage areas of Concourse B and D. We will be arriving on American on Concourse D. My sister will be arriving earlier on Delta on Concourse B. Will she be able to walk from the Concourse B luggage area to the Concourse D area? It appears to me that this will be easy to do, but it would be good if we could know for sure. Thanks.

Do you have a date for this? I suspect you won't be able to do that as they're closing off whole terminals for reconstruction one by one.

The date of arrival at San Juan is December 5. If one can not go from Delta luggage area to American luggage claim area, where would be the best place to meet? Can one go from the Delta area to outside and then back inside to American? Aviator, any information you can give us is appreciated.

The terminal map has the connecting walkways marked but not labeled as such. They are the blue walkways with an arrow with points on both ends inside of the walkways. I don't have a key for that on my keyboard but it is a line with an arrow pointing right and an arrow pointing left. All of these walkways are past the security checkpoints.

We are sailing out of San Juan in November and I was told that it is a good idea to buy my wine for the cruise in the airport.

 

I was told that there is a large store just past security. We are arriving at Terminal A (JetBlue). Is that where the store is or were they referring to a different terminal? Would I be able to buy wine at the duty free at the airport?

Because the stores in the airport are duty free, we had to show our DEPARTURE ticket to purchase in the store. I'm not sure about purchasing when you are arriving in San Juan.
