Shmoo here Posted September 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2013 I know when going out of Port Canaveral and crossing into the ocean it can get rough. Does the same thing happen coming out of Boston and Ft Lauderdale? How about Key West?
cruiserking Posted September 5, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2013 I know when going out of Port Canaveral and crossing into the ocean it can get rough. Does the same thing happen coming out of Boston and Ft Lauderdale? How about Key West? If there's ocean, it can get rough. We were shortly into the Atlantic cruising from New York in 2006 and hit a diabolical storm that had us soaring up and crashing down like a top in a bath tub. CruiserBruce Posted September 5, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 5, 2013 Any time you are on the ocean it can be rough. You are on a ship on the ocean. Roughness is a possibility. Is sunny and warm the only vacation weather? Course not. Calm seas are not the only sea condition.
Keith1010 Posted September 5, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 5, 2013 You just never know when you are at sea. One of the roughest seas we ever had was arriving back to Miami in 2010 yet on most other sailings it was calm. I have gone around Cape Horn which is one of the locations with the roughest seas in the world. Odds say they will be rough and the first time we sailed this it was rough but the last couple of times it was calm. No one can predict what the seas nor the overall weather will be like. Krazy Kruizers Posted September 5, 2013 #5 Share Posted September 5, 2013 No on can predict the weather. We have sailed out of all the ports you listed. Sometimes the ocean was smooth as glass -- other times rough.
