moesmrs Posted September 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2013 Traveled from Nuremberg to Prague on the AMALyra. August 27 thru Sept 3. We did 3 nights in Prague on our own prior to meeting the tour at the Intercontinental for the bus transfer with a stop in Karlovy Vary. We had no issues with low water, high water or lock strikes. This was our first river cruise but it will not be our last- we had a great time with memories that will last a lifetime. I will try to do a in depth review soon but aside from a few petty complaints we were impressed with AMA Waterways, the AMALyra and her staff. If anyone has any particular questions I will be happy to help.
letsgoeverywhere Posted September 6, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 6, 2013 We were on this cruise and totally agree. We were two couples from Toronto. Had a wonderful time with a crew that attended to all our needs. We are still travelling and will post a review on our return home.

caviargal Posted September 28, 2013 #5 Share Posted September 28, 2013 Could you please let me know if you used the internet to check email etc. Can one use it to download pictures to transfer to a memory stick ?Thanks! I used the internet on all of my river cruises and quality of service depends mostly on location. There are some dead spots, some spots were service exists but is slow and others where it works very well. I use it for email, work, SKYPE and FaceTime to connect with family and friends. We always download photos to our ipad or laptop and that does not require a connection, just an adapter.
moesmrs Posted September 30, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted September 30, 2013 Sorry, I thought this post was long dead. Lunch in Karlovy Vary- I don;t remember where we ate. We just walked towards the Spa and picked a place. It was past the geyser building. We sat outside, the restaurant had orange fleece blankets-sorry I can't remember the name. Internet- Caviargal is spot on. I had my own laptop and when the internet worked it worked fine but about 1/2 the time when sailing it was unavailable due to locks etc.
