Karysa Posted September 6, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 6, 2013 Has anybody done this excursion through Island Marketing?? If so, how was it? We rented small boats from the Boathouse Boat Rental on the Simpson Bay Lagoon. The lagoon was a great place to explore and we docked at Marina Royale in Marigot and went to the Marigot Market and to Seraphina's. There were 2 couples so we didn't go very fast but we all really enjoyed it.

Karysa Posted September 6, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 6, 2013 That's where we're headed. Thanks for the info! You are welcome. The new owners are a nice family from Conneticut ( I believe). It's a very good idea for a business on the island. I hope that it works out for them. Have fun!
printingchick Posted October 29, 2013 #5 Share Posted October 29, 2013 We've reserved a small boat from this company for our March cruise on Jewel of the Seas. Karysa (my daughter's name too, but different spelling!), would love to hear more about your day. Did you do the half day or full day? Ray mentioned that there was a beach with caves where you could stop and do snorkeling. Did you do that? How was it? Did you do any fishing? I understand they supply gear. Did you utilize their transportation, or get your own cab from the ship? The lagoon looks very large. Did it feel that way to you? Tell me more!!! :D THANKS! We took a taxi to the Sonesta Maho and met my DS and BIL and then we drove to the Boathouse. We rented the boat for 3 hours. We did not fish or swim. Can't imagine swimming in the lagoon. It's a very big lagoon and we did not get a chance to explore all of it. Going to Marigot to the market and to Serafina's bakery by boat was great. We only rented the boat for 3 hours but that was plenty for us. We went to Karakter beach bar at Simpson Bay beach for lunch and it was fantastic. It's a lovely beach. Karysa Posted November 3, 2013 #8 Share Posted November 3, 2013 Thanks, Karysa. We booked a full day. Very excited. Thanks for sharing your experience! You are welcome. Peurto Cupocoy is another place you may like to visit. I don't think that it would be a far walk from the dock there to Cupocoy beach. Perhaps those are the caves that you mentioned. It's a really nice area of the island and worthy of a visit since you have 6 hours. Cupocoy is between Mullet bay beach and Long Bay. Have fun and let us know how it was! printingchick Posted November 7, 2013 #11 Share Posted November 7, 2013 Karysa - Did it take you a long time to get your confirmation? I got an email from Ray Rapp almost immediately. Yet, I have not received a bill for a deposit or a confirmation number. I've emailed a couple times since and get a friendly response saying they have recorded my reservation and he'll be sending me a PayPal invoice for the deposit, but still nothing. I just want to make sure we have a boat there when we arrive!! Thanks!

Thanks. Maybe I'm just trying to lock things down too far in advance. I tend to do that! I booked my March 2014 cruise in May 2012!! I'm a bit anxious!! I appreciate your help!
