Dial7 transportation NY rate question

The website is not clear, when they state a rate (example: $40.00 to a location), is that for the car (sedan, holds 4) or per person? I realize that is excluding tip. Just trying to determine if we'd pay $40.00 for 4 people or $160.00??

Thanks,

Debbie

We will be travelling from Harrison NJ to the Manhattan port, does the $40 rate apply, or are there additional fees? And should we make a reservation a few days in advance?

Thanks,

Marilyn

The $40 rate cited in the original post is just an example. You have to get a price quote from the car service for your specific trip....which I can pretty well guarantee will be somewhat more than $40. (My guess is somewhere in the $50-$60 range for a standard sedan.)

Quoted rates are typically for the base fare only and do not include tolls and tip. Tolls for your trip will be in the $15 to $20 range. A tip of 15-20% is customary. Yes, you should make reservations a few days in advance.

I also have a question about dial 7. I booked my pick up to the cruise terminal. Will I have to call to remind them or will they be there at the designated time?

Also, since I don't know exactly what time we are going to get off the ship, the lady on the phone said to just call the number and someone should be there with in 15 minutes. I am a little uneasy about this because we don't even have a date prearranged for pick up from the cruise port? Thanks in advanced.

You shouldn't have to call to reconfirm your pick up, but you can if you want.

I don't understand why you don't have a pick up date booked for your return. Typically you book your pick up date and then the car service will tell you to call them when you're off the ship. They'll have a car waiting nearby on a side street and then dispatch it to a pick up point after you call. No one ever knows in advance exactly when they'll be off the ship, but you book based on an approximate time...say 2 to 2 1/2 hours after your ship's scheduled docking.
