The HM is Karl, seems a nice guy. Heidicha is the CD and Jay is the assistant. Always visible around the ship and very friendly.

 

Overcast day today in Katakolon. Had a lovely view from the balcony until the Ruby Princess pulled up beside us. All I can say is I am glad I am on the O.

Chef Kurt and his troops excelled again last night at the Chef's Dinner. To make about 200 of these deserts is amazing.

 

 

All courses were beautifully done.

Saw the pancakes yesterday so I thought I would try them and yes they tasted as nice as they look.

 

 

Loved Parga, very quaint place with beautiful beach, the water was lovely. DW liked the small shops. Was to be the second marina day but unfortunately too windy so looks like there will be no marina day for me this cruise.

Dubrovnik was everything I expected and more.

 

 

Did the Cavtat SB excursion which was nice but probably could have better spent the time in Dubrovnik. Nice views from the stop on the way to Cavtat in the coach.

 

 

Cavtat was beautiful but only had about 30 mins there. Returned from Cavtat by this boat which was nicer than the coach.

 

 

There was a 45 min guided tour of Dubrovnik included which was good. Walked half the wall and loved it, spectacular views.

 

 

 

Wanted to stay for night Dubrovnik so decided to find a place to dine, the place was great but the the food below par after nearly 2 weeks of the exceptional food from Chef Kurt.

 

Nice wandering around this place at night.

The shows start at 9:45 and run for 45 min. The shows have been very good.

Good luck getting off in Venice today. It is absolutely a mad house here. There are 10 ships expected in port. We are having an issue with our transfer. It has been booked for almost 9 months for a 1pm pickup & when we got here Thursday night they told us they were changing it to 3! We have been fighting with them ever since. We are down to 2, which still does not please me....

We took a while to get our water taxi which we had booked, there are so many people just arrived on the large ships. Wandering around there are so many tour groups from the ships.

 

gbits, enjoy your cruise. The ship is fabulous and also the food and the crew. Hope your stewardess is Monika, she is so lovely.

Thanks for the great pictures.We are booked on Odyssey next June and travelling from Istanbul to Barcelona. This will be our first cruise with Seabourn and it is always great to see the input of other travellers. Everything looks great.Can't wait!

To Finalise the story of our cruise .......

 

Hvar was so calm in the harbour.

 

 

 

Did the SB snorkel and sail excursion. It was good but the sailing could have been cut shorter and then had some time in Hvar. By the time we got back to Hvar from the excursion it was time to get the tender.

 

 

The bay we sailed to was quite pretty and the water was beautiful.

 

 

There were fish but nothing compared to Fiji or Great Barrier Reef. The lunch which was sitting on the table downstairs in the sail boat all morning was not very inviting but the wasps seem to love it. They came in droves and could not get rid of them

Then to Ravenna and our final day.

 

In Ravenna a number of us did a private van through SB. Went to Bologna first and then Ravenna. Bologna was better than expected, wandering around had a good feel to it. The basilica in the main piazza and the palace which was the old University were highlights.

 

 

 

Walking down the narrow lanes with the markets was interesting and went back there for lunch at a local cafe.

 

 

Then spent some time in Ravenna which was very nice. The mosaics have to be seen to be believed.

Then to Venice and a sad end to a wonderful cruise. It was hard to leave the beautiful ship and crew (not all but most). Will do a review in the reviews forum later but thoroughly enjoyed the cruise, our first ever cruise and there is a lot to be said for waking up in a different port without having to think or drive.
