specialty restaurant discount on first night?

What if you have two cruises booked at the same time? For discussion sake we will say the cruises are 2 months apart. Cruise #1 you are a 3-star Mariner. Cruise #2 you will be a 4-star Mariner. How could you expect the "computer system" to know when you booked PG for Cruise #2 that you will pay 4-star price - when you really aren't 4-star until you take Cruise #1. See where I am going with this. To me, the logical way is to charge everyone full price, and adjust according to what star level they are when taking the actual cruise.

Yes, we get the point.

However, it doesn't seem HAL is going to make an adjustment to their booking program so discounts are reflected at the time we book on line.

We all get it..... well, we don't get the discount until on the ship.

I don't know that HAL isn't going to make an adjustment to their booking program. I am hoping enough posts will encourage them to change it. Or isn't that what all of your posts about balcony smoking and food on the sideboard in the Neptune on the Westerdam all about?

 Did I tell you to not post about whatever you wish?

I don't recall ever telling you anything you should or should not do. No need to attack me or the issues I care to post about.

You care more about Pinnacle charges and I care more about stopping verandah smoking. What's wrong with that? You have your issue and I have mine.

That is odd. We always have late fixed-time dining and our impression has always been that the first MDR dinner is the most crowded and slowest service. It could be a difference between early and late seating.

Prior to sailing, I always book the Pinnacle for the first night. I have fixed seating and find that most people are too tired from travelling and don't show up for their assigned seating in the main dining room.
