hrprof Posted September 9, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2013 The O web site indicates availability of virtually all categories of rooms for the 12/28 18 day sailing from Valparaiso to PPT. Fares are very attractive with additional benefits. Can this be true?
marypa Posted September 9, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 9, 2013 There is a very active role call for this date. Having said that, we recently upgraded to PH for a very reasonable fee. We like quiet ships so don't tell everyone The O web site indicates availability of virtually all categories of rooms for the 12/28 18 day sailing from Valparaiso to PPT. It could mean 1 or more cabins in each category are still available not that the ship is empty ;)
hrprof Posted September 9, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted September 9, 2013 Clearly, my use of "empty" is an overstatement to emphasize my surprise at the broad availability of categories. We are O fans and always have our TA place reservations for us on first day open to get our favored rooms. This is the first time I stumbled on an O cruise with this kind of choice so close to departure. Don't you see this as highly unusual?
wripro Posted September 9, 2013 #5 Share Posted September 9, 2013 It's a slightly unusual itinerary which not everyone will want, which might be a reason for the extra availability.
TERRIER1 Posted September 10, 2013 #6 Share Posted September 10, 2013 It is also the rainy season in French Polynesia which may deter some people.
