CABIN #: Infinity #7178

DECK #: 7

CLASS: 2A

AREA: Mid-ship

BED NEAR: Bathroom

QUIET?: Mostly

BALCONY VIEW: Very good

BALCONY SIZE: larger than average

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:

Was not a problem for us, but in the morning you could sometimes faintly hear the elevator bell ring. Not enough to wake you. It was a little larger inside the cabin than our friends cabin a few doors away. There was more space between the foot of the bed and the wall.

CABIN #: 1132

DECK #: Sunrise Deck 11

CLASS: AQ1

AREA: Aft

BED NEAR: Between bath and desk

QUIET?: Yes, we had no problems to speak of.

BALCONY VIEW: Nice view toward aft and forward. Partial open sky view.

BALCONY SIZE: Small, but doable with two chairs, small table and no stools.

WIND A PROBLEM?: Sometimes if ship was going fast or it was stormy.

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: There is a public deck above the balcony, but no chairs for passengers to sit on. There was very little foot traffic and no jogging allowed.

There is an access door to the aft bar (very convenient) near 1132. We heard very little noise from opening/closing.

Constellation December 2014

Cabin: #6121

Deck#: 6 - Penthouse

Class Sky Suite2

Area Aft

Bed Near: Between bathroom and living area

Quiet: No. Directly across from Butler's large closet. Every afternoon, multiple tea carts are lined up in front of your door, to be navigated around as you try to arrive or leave your room. At night, even very late or early a.m, butlers come and go, with bright lights shining under your door every time their pantry door is left open.

Balcony View: Not good. View is not blocked if you look straight ahead or from your bed, but directly below your balcony is an industrial looking crew work area containing racks of round cases with life rafts. This area is where a tug with barge was attached for refueling one morning in port.

Balcony size: Average for Sky Suite. Two chairs, one footrest, one small table.

Wind? No

Soot? No

Problems/Comments: Switched to this room (as a Guarantee) in order to save $500 on the cruise fare. Worth it to me, but there must be better S2s.

Ship : Summit

Cabin #: 1140

Deck #: 11

Class: A1

Area: Aft

Bed near: Bath

Quiet?: Cabin yes. On balcony hear music and voices from bar deck below.

Balcony view: Partially obstructed by canopy below, flagpole behind.

Great views looking out by the railing.

Balcony size: Extra deep, standard width, partially covered

Wind a problem?: No

Soot a problem?: No

Problems/comments: Ship's motion really felt up there.

Occasional smell of smoke from deck that extends out below.

Can't look straight down to the water the way you can from side balconies.

No breeze on balcony so gets very hot from sun on warm day, which could be advantage on cold weather cruise.

Conveniently located close to stairs down to bar below.

SHIP: Constellation

CABIN #: 8183

DECK #: 8

CLASS: FV

AREA: Port Aft

BED NEAR: Bathroom

QUIET?: Moderate - can hear people at the Mast Bar, but doesn't go too late.

BALCONY VIEW: Awesome!

BALCONY SIZE: Enormous! Right next to the really huge family verandas. Has cement overhang section, then fabric (so some rain gets through the edges), then open to the sun at the very end. Better than really enormous FVs because has glass balcony wall so view is not blocked when you are in a chair or lounger. (Comes with full size table, 4 chairs, two footstools, two loungers, side table.)

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: I highly recommend if you want to be able to sun on your balcony. Caution - it looks like the equivalent cabins on deck 9 do not have the same advantages, and are even closer to the Mast Bar.

  • 2 weeks later...

CABIN #: 9149

DECK #: 9

CLASS: C3

AREA: Port, between mid and aft elevators

BED NEAR: Bathroom

QUIET?: Noise from buffet above and from adjoining stateroom

BALCONY VIEW: Good but slightly obstructed by overhang

BALCONY SIZE: Average

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: We had a slight gap between bays in the overhang above, but for some the overhang bothered me more than it did when we had a similar cabin on an earlier cruise. It disrupts any scenic photos you want to take. Also, to be across the hall from our mom's inside cabin, we chose an interlocking cabin. The problem is the TVs are located right next to the inter-cabin doors, so when our neighbor was blaring their TV it was very audible. On our previous Deck 9 cabin we were lucky and had no noise from the buffet above, but this time there was a lot of rolling cart noise late at night and early in the morning.

Ship and Year of Cruise: Summit (February, 2015)

Cabin #: 1107

Deck: 11

Class: A1 (Aqua)

Area: Aft

Bed Near: Bath

Quiet?: Yes, except for one slightly rough night when the shower doors kept banging

Balcony View: Great.

Balcony Size: Standard

Wind a Problem?: No

Soot a Problem?: No

Comments: Was nervous about being so close to the aft elevators and having the sitting area directly outside the room but it was never a problem. No noise from the deck 12 sports deck either. The shower doors leaked and we could never figure out a way to keep them from doing so. The balcony had standing water on it for most of the week which I think was the cause of the room smelling musty. When the it dried off by midweek, the smell was gone and then came back again after we got rain and a new puddle. The balcony door was really difficult to open.

Thank you for posting this. We are in 1105 on our upcoming Canada/NE cruise and I was worried about the balcony being smaller than normal. I'm hoping there will not be an issue with the shower doors in our cabin.

SHIP: Infinity

CABIN #: 6145

DECK #: 6

CLASS: Sky Suite 1

AREA: Last cabin at the aft end of the port side of the ship

BED NEAR: Bath; bed/s face the balcony.

QUIET?: Very! Felt like we were the only ones on the ship.

BALCONY VIEW: Excellent. Looks down to the sea.

BALCONY SIZE: Huge! We had 2 loungers, 2 chairs with footstools, and large table with 4 chairs on the balcony with room to walk around.

Just for midwestchick from another Midwest chick:

Summit: February 2015

Cabin: 1105

Class: Aqua

Deck: 11 Aft port side? Still get them mixed up

Quiet: Yes, very quiet

Balcony view: very nice can see forward back and down

Balcony size: Small compared to S Class

No soot or wind problem.

Comments: would book this room again with no hesitation. Thought TV placement is odd (left of bed almost across from bathroom door)so we turned couch to face it and put table behind the couch. Only a little water escaped from shower nothing the bathmat couldn't handle. Felt this side was perfect for this sailing, we got the morning sun but not the heat of the afternoon, which I was worried about. Sister and BIL were in 1107 and did seem to always have water by their balcony door. Steward opened panel on balcony between our rooms. Both our doors were very hard to get open, never locked out but sure had to pull with both hands.

Best part is, its out cabin door about a dozen steps then down one flight of stairs and another dozen steps to coffee and food in Oceanview. 56 steps- I counted them. Loved that it was right by elevators/stairs.

Thank you so much for posting this. :D :D One good thing...we probably won't be eating in Oceanview since we're doing Aqua this time.

Looking at your member name, I'm wondering if you're from the Port Washington area.
