cruisebore Posted September 11, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 11, 2013 Does there appear to be any pattern as to how P&O are allocating these cabins. time before booking, loyalty club status etc etc. receiving the best locations. Cb p.s meant Getaway but can't edit the header
wilson2579 Posted September 11, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 11, 2013 Loyalty doesn't appear to come into it with P and O. Getaway passengers are given the cabins that are left and are usually allocated 2 weeks before the time right up to the day of departure. Our getaway was exactly 2 weeks before. CASPALL Posted September 11, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 11, 2013 As cb says, there is no pattern We booked last years Xmas cruise in June and were allocated our cabin within a week of booking. Just booked for next February and keep checking my account on the P&O website every so often - I really don't want that cabin at the front!! I do hate this whole Getaway/Vantage fare thing! Essexlass2 Posted September 11, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 11, 2013 I believe someone said that P&O do allocate a better position to Getaway fare passengers the earlier they book rather than if they've booked at the last minute, but how true that is I really don't know. So far, we've always been happy with where they've put us on Getaway fares and hope for the same this time ........... still waiting to find out! :)
pendlerose Posted September 11, 2013 #5 Share Posted September 11, 2013 I booked getaway for 1st November last month and got a cabin allocated when i was booking. although noticed the getaway fares have come down another £50 now. could have got an outside cabin now for same price. i wonder if its worth ringing up and asking? wilson2579 Posted September 11, 2013 #6 Share Posted September 11, 2013 One of the restrictions of getaway is that you can't change your booking or cabin. On my cruise in July I was in an inside cabin but if I had waited I could have had a balcony for the same price. It is a chance you take.:(
amajaa Posted September 12, 2013 #7 Share Posted September 12, 2013 I often wonder if they wait for you to fill in your passport details etc on your cruise personaliser before they allocate as both times before we have our allocated cabin quite quick. I haven't filled it in yet this time and haven't been allocated yet.

I haven't filled it in yet this time and haven't been allocated yet. Don't think that makes any difference. We filled ours in as soon as we had booked. Roxally Posted September 13, 2013 #10 Share Posted September 13, 2013 Well done you!! Maybe P&O are beginning to recognise customer loyalty when allocating guarantee cabins. Have a great cruise.

Booked for 21st Sept last week, got cabin allocated 2 days later and have yet to fill in any passenger details on the personaliser !!! I best get on and do that sooner rather than later
