Oasis Crown Loft Questions

 Share

Recommended Posts

We're thrilled because we just upgraded to a Crown Loft for our upcoming cruise. However, I have a few questions that I hope someone can answer.

How much closet and drawer space is there. I know in the JS has a walk-in closet, and I'm hoping there's one in the CL.

Is there an area set aside for the ladies to sit down to put on their makeup and do their hair? Is there a makeup mirror?

Is it best to tip the suite attendant upon arrival or toward the end of the cruise. In the past we've always done this at the end.

Is there a separate a/c control for the upstairs?

Since there aren't any chairs and a table on the balcony, what are the chances of getting those so we can have breakfast and dinner on the balcony? :) :)

Congratulations on getting the Crown Loft Suite... you are going to love it! Let me try to answer the questions -

The closets... there is a pretty good size closet upstairs in the loft. Sorry - not a walk-in closet, but the one upstairs was a very good size - way bigger than what I needed for a 7 night cruise. There are also a good amount of drawers to utilize - some upstairs and also some downstairs too.

The sit-down vanity/makeup mirror - yes, there is a very nice sized sitting area across from the bathroom to sit and do hair and make-up with more drawers for your vanity kind of stuff as well. There are 2 bathrooms in the loft as well, so plenty of space to spread out that kind of stuff and have plenty of light.

Tipping Suite Attendants - we pre-paid our tips (MTD) but received excellent service from our attendants so we did tip them at the end of the cruise before we left. I think that is really your preference... they will provide excellent service, no doubt, whether you tip at the beginning or at the end of the cruise.

A/C - Yes - if memory serves me there are 2 separate controls for the A/C, one upstairs and one downstairs. We were very comfortable the entire cruise. No problems that we can report with the A/C.

Deck Table/Chairs - There is no table or chairs on the deck - but there is a very nice set up inside the loft on the first floor in the living area. We did not request one, nor did I see that anyone else had. There are 2 very nice cushioned loungers on the deck... we enjoyed them immensely during our stay on Oasis!

Hope I helped... Have a great time on your cruise. Oasis is amazing and enjoy that CL!

Penny, thank you so much for answering all of my questions. I knew there wasn't a table and chairs on the balcony, but I am going to request those. If we get them it'll be great; if not, oh well. If I don't ask I'll never know if it can be done or not. I'm glad to hear there's a makeup area. I hate to have to stand up and do makeup. LOL

You have been most helpful and I really appreciate it. :)

My pleasure - glad to help... You will have to report back and let us know if you are able to get a table and chairs for the deck to enjoy a meal or two out there... I'd be interested to know if it can be done.

Have a great time!!!

Congrats on your upgrade. I have photos of the CL in my sig line below. Enjoy that nice stateroom.:)

I flipped through your photos for the time spent on Allure of the Seas and I was completely amazed (by the way, great photo taking). I wanted to ask you some questions regarding the Crown Loft suites. You had photos for the Royal Loft, Sky Loft, and Crown Loft (1730) suites. Did you actually stay in all of these?

a) The L2 suites (like 1730) face to the aft of the ship and are priced lower than the L1 suites that face port or starboard. Are there any differences such as size of the inside or outside spaces? If so, what are they?

b) Would you prefer to have an aft view or a port/starboard view while staying on this floor?

c) Have you ever booked one of these suites after final payment? If so, do these suites have price drops that you were able to take advantage of?

If you prefer not to comment on these questions publicly, you can send a response to vulcan1971a@aim.com

I'm considering booking this type of stateroom for a 2014 cruise and may consider placing the reservation while on the Celebrity Reflection in November. I have read a number of posts that cover RCCL price drops after final payment, but I don't have a good feel for which types of staterooms these price drops are associated. Any advice (from all) on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

I'm also considering a Grand Suite or Owner's Suite. I would like to hear from individuals (personal testimonial) that have actually stayed in these types of suites. Tell me why you chose them, which floor/deck (and why), and what you liked best about the amenities for these staterooms.

Thanks in advance for your sage advice.

We were in a Crown Loft last week on Oasis and when we got to our room our suite attendant came and introduced himself right away and gave us some info about our room and such. We were traveling with another couple who were in a different suite and we do enjoy meeting in 1 room for breakfast on the balcony so we asked if there was any way to get a table and 4 chairs on our balcony and that same night they had pushed our loungers to each side of the balcony so that they were still usable and put a table and the 4 chairs in the middle. It was perfect.

On a side note on the closets there is plenty of room and if you run out of hangers in the upstairs closet then you have a whole second closet full of them to borrow from.

There is definately 2 thermostat controls and they work great. It is an absolutely fantastic room you will love it.

Enjoy!

Kris

In August, on the Allure I travelled with family members who were upgraded at the pier from a GS to a CL (1724), which overlooked the golf course. Personally, I loved the location and view. I did not find it noisy. I know it was not my room but I spent a lot of time visiting :). I would think aft vs water view is a personal decision. The view of the water may be more peaceful for some. I am from a big city and enjoyed looking at the activities below while sitting on the balcony. It felt like I was still part of the ship activities but away from the crowds.

Price drops are dependent on inventory and different for every sailing. On my aforementioned sailing, prices dropped often about 3 weeks out in every category. I guess the ship was not filling up. I would think in the off season there is a better chance for a price drop on suites as the ship is less full. I read on CC if you are looking for an upgrade choose a category you feel comfortable with and wait for price drops after final payment. This seemed like a good idea. Of course, room selection at this point maybe limited. In addition to price drops, check resident rates. I notice these popping up more often and sometimes are really good rates in the suite category.

I booked the last CL for a sailing on Oasis in Oct 2014 and the OS is also sold out. Needless to say that there will not be a price drop on either after final payment.

I would be interested in knowing the difference between the OS and CL suites. I know the sq ft of both the room and balcony are bigger in an OS but is there any other advantage for one or the other. I've seen the CL priced hight than the OS and sometimes vice versa.
