Sorrento shuttle service

Has anybody used the Sorrento shuttle service offered by cruising excursions from Naples?

We are looking for a service that allows a do it yourself day in Sorrento from Naples port. I understand there is a ferry/hydrofoil service however we would prefer a car or bus if possible. Our ship does not offer this type of excursion.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

There is also the Circumvesuvius Train.

I have heard the train journey is most uncomfortable and not ideal for tourists.

Is there a bus that goes from Naples port to Sorrento?
