fan3car Posted September 13, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2013 We did a two hour open bar party last year and since I'm a bourbon drinker I ordered either Jack Daniels or Jim Beam. Wife was drinking Bacardi. There was a full bar of liquor being served, both premium and what one would call well drinks. They made Pina Coladas, daiquiris, and other blender drinks, as well as wine. If it was behind the bar, they served it.
funinthesun1964 Posted September 13, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 13, 2013 They will have pre-made drinks on trays that the server(s) will hand out. Or, you can order a drink that you would like, obviously it will take a couple of minutes for them to make them and get them to you. They will not be the full-size either, for example DH ordered a mudslide and they brought a smaller version than the regular ones. You could always order two at a time to hold you over. Also, we had one server and one bartender for our last party. We had about 30 in attendance, so they called in another server. But in the end, everyone had enough to drink. funinthesun1964 Posted September 13, 2013 #8 Share Posted September 13, 2013 Is there any music played in the piano bar during the cocktail party??? We had ours in the dance club, but I don't think there would be music played during the cocktail party, unless you paid extra for that.
lauraezzell Posted September 13, 2013 #9 Share Posted September 13, 2013 We had ours in the dance club, but I don't think there would be music played during the cocktail party, unless you paid extra for that. Just scheduled ours for the Fantasy in December and they asked me if I wanted to provide music or if I wanted them to just play "ship" music. I told them to just play the "ship" music. No extra charge for this.
funinthesun1964 Posted September 13, 2013 #10 Share Posted September 13, 2013 well, that may be "piped in" music, but check out this page which explains the charges for entertainment: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1898259&highlight=open+bar+party&page=
Noel182002 Posted September 13, 2013 #11 Share Posted September 13, 2013 I think that without the music would be better so you could talk to all your new found friends
funinthesun1964 Posted September 13, 2013 #12 Share Posted September 13, 2013 At last year's M&G on the Freedom, we didn't have any type of music (if there was I didn't hear it) and did not miss it at all.
