umbertsmum Posted September 13, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2013 Hi We assumed the same as the departure time for Rotterdam is 11.59 so most passengers will be out ashore late but you never know

IECalCruiser Posted September 18, 2013 #6 Share Posted September 18, 2013 (edited) Does anyone know what night the formal night might be? Day 3 is a sea day so thought it may be that night?? It's usually the sea day on the 4 nightFormal nights are never the first or last nights and are almost always on a sea day unless the ship leaves port early. Saturday the 28th seems to fit the bill. Widebay Posted September 17, 2014 #7 Share Posted September 17, 2014 Just give the 'formal night' a big flick, just a waste of time, carting around formal clothing just to wear on 1 or 2 nights of a cruise. Why would a man want to walk/dance that night in "penguin suit", rather be in a nice Hawaiian shirt, slacks, (comfortable clothing, you know what I mean)
GUT2407 Posted September 17, 2014 #8 Share Posted September 17, 2014 If there is a sea day that is not the last night, you can all but bet on t being Formal night so yep night 3 is most likely.

jimw Posted September 17, 2014 #10 Share Posted September 17, 2014 I read on the Princess website that there is no formal night on 3-4 day cruises. That may well only apply to the Caribbean or North America.

Thrak Posted September 17, 2014 #12 Share Posted September 17, 2014 There are not any formal nights on a 4 night cruise. There certainly wasn't a formal night on the only 4 night cruise we were on. agree that they don't normally have a formal night on a cruise of that length. Grover_ Posted September 17, 2014 #13 Share Posted September 17, 2014 My upcoming 4 day caribbean does not have a formal night. It specifically says this in the cruise personalizer for my cruise.

Lovetocruiseprincess Posted September 17, 2014 #15 Share Posted September 17, 2014 Formal night dressing on a 4 & 5 day trip is a joke.
Rare geoherb Posted September 17, 2014 #16 Share Posted September 17, 2014 The original post started a year ago--back when the Princess website still included one formal night on 4-day cruises. They changed the policy sometime last fall--before our 4-day cruises on the Ruby in December. It took a while for it to catch up on the FAQs on the Princess website. And once again, I wish that threads would have an automatic off to keep people from resurrecting them after a certain number of weeks without a reply.
