rolltidebamagirl Posted September 14, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 14, 2013 We want to bring our allowable limit of wine and sold/water bottles on board our Carnival cruise. Do most people put these in their carry-on or their checked luggage? I would imagine checked luggage would be better because you won't have to carry it around the ship if your room isn't ready by the time you board. What worked for you on past trips? Essiesmom Posted September 14, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 14, 2013 If you read the regulations on the Carnival website, it states emphatically that it has to be in your carryon. EM
Rare Scrapnana Posted September 14, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 14, 2013 You don't want it in your checked luggage because if it breaks, not only can it ruin your things but it can get into the luggage of others and ruin theirs.

Keith1010 Posted September 15, 2013 #7 Share Posted September 15, 2013 As others have said, you need to place this in your carry on luggage. Keith
lady_cruiser Posted September 19, 2013 #8 Share Posted September 19, 2013 Even though Carnival suggests that we carry water/soda with our carryon we forget and checked them (they were in regular luggage) at the curb. We received them at our cabin before we were even on the ship; thanks to FTTF. We were lucky to receive them but next time we will follow the rules and bring them with our carryon. live2vayk Posted September 19, 2013 #9 Share Posted September 19, 2013 I was just on a Carnival cruise in late August. The rules do say to pack beverages in your carry on, and I had read that, but it was so long ago that I had read that information I forgot. I packed some soda and a bottle of wine in my checked bag. It was confiscated. :( Dumb of me to not make note of that rule and follow it! I never did get it back. They left me a note saying I could retrieve it at the end of the cruise, but frankly it wasn't worth my time to hassle with it. But, lesson learned, put it in your carry on! live2vayk Posted September 21, 2013 #11 Share Posted September 21, 2013 Sorry this happen to you. It just made me realize how lucky we were to have ours delivered to our cabin. We had some other folks in our party that packed soda, and it made it in their checked luggage. I guess it is luck. Sometimes they check/care, sometimes they don't! But, it you are taking a chance when you pack it. Best to carry it on.
