Several questions about Star Princess

anteaters

Recommended Posts

Hi! We just booked a January Hawaiian cruise on Star Princess and this will be our first time on this ship. We have always loved participating in Princess's afternoon teas but when I just read some recent member reviews, teas were never mentioned. Has anyone been to one? Also, in terms of pools, I believe that I read that there is one heated pool. Has anyone been in that pool and if so, which one is it and is it truly kept fairly warm? We have been on the Sapphire, Golden, Crown, Grand, and Emerald ships. Are any of the above pretty identical in layout and size to Star? Thanks!

The Star is a sister ship to the Golden and Grand. Each have very slight differences. There was tea time on the Golden every sea day to Hawaii last season (don't recall if they did/did not on port days, but think so). I haven't been in a ships pool in decades so can't tell you about this. They do have one pool that is covered.

Was on the Star for a month this past April.

The Grand & Golden were sister ships when built, but there have been dry dock changes since so they are similar, but not exactly the same. If you are familiar with the Grand and Golden you will feel at home on the Star.

Afternoon teas around 3:30. Well attended. Scones, little sandwiches.

No pool really warm, but not really cold either. Indoor pool might be a little warmer. Five pools on the Star, Terrace Pool, Lotus Pool, Neptune's Reef, Calypso Reef, and Oasis Pool

No real card/game room. People play all over the ship.

Just got off the Star. They had the tea. The covered pool was closed. I expect it will be open for you.

Thanks so much for writing! I wonder why the covered pool was closed especially at this time of year.....Did you enjoy the ship/cruise?
