Rare Lionesss Posted September 15, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 15, 2013 The "best" around there is either Fishlips or grills, for dining and watching the ships cruise by. If you want anything fancier try driving in to Cocoa Beach. Sea Ya
lauri62fl Posted September 15, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 15, 2013 FishLips and grills are the best by far! Great local spots!
Capt_BJ Posted September 15, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 15, 2013 fishlips and grills (and Rustys and Millikans) are far from the best food around here but they are good, and have the great port view that cruisers are typically looking for, and not too $$, kid friendly, close to the popular pre-cruise hotels are you looking for something more upscale food wise? Justcat Posted September 15, 2013 #5 Share Posted September 15, 2013 How far are you willing to drive? About 30 minutes away (take 528 aka the beach line to US1 then head North) there is a town called Mims that has Louis' BBQ Shack. Fantastic local spot for BBQ. Just South of there on US1 in Tituville is El Leoncito which is a local Mexican place that has great drink specials and good food. Also right on US1 in Titusville is Paul's Steak House which is more upscale. I would NOT suggest going to Steve's Diner which is in that area unless you enjoy mediocre microwaved food. About 15 minutes away (take A1A south to 520 then East) is Merritt Island they have all your typical chain places (steak and shake, applebee's, Outback, Longhorn, etc) as well as Cocoa Beach right on A1A south of the port has multiple places (if you go far enough south I'd hit Slow and Low BBQ) that are really good. Tokyo Japanese Steak House is right on A1A it's a Habatchi place that is pretty good.

temple1 Posted September 15, 2013 #7 Share Posted September 15, 2013 Sunset Waterfront Grill on the causeway in Cocoa Beach was pretty good. Not had the opportunity to try any of the other local places.
Capt_BJ Posted September 15, 2013 #8 Share Posted September 15, 2013 I'd agree that Sunset is 'pretty good' the places I'm listing are 'good' to 'very good' or in other words, prom date places . . . . where the locals know it will cost more but we're willing to pay . . . cocoabeachnative Posted September 15, 2013 #9 Share Posted September 15, 2013 The cove in Port Canaveral has such places as Grills, Fishlips, Rusty's and Millikans Reef. Grills is a number #1 The food is great and the Jimmy Buffet like atmosphere is really nice.

krazy4cruising Posted September 17, 2013 #12 Share Posted September 17, 2013 Another vote here for Grills. It was the best meal we had this summer on our 3 week vacation. No joke!! The Tahiti potatoes are fantastic!!!
