Dawn Garden Villa Pricing

Having read some of the reviews of the Garden Villa, I am now interested

My question regards pricing for additional guests over 2 people

Some outside booking sites ( and some reviews I've read ) indicate very nominal pricing for additional guests after 2

When I go direct on Norweigia's site, they seem to be asking full price for all guests, with no discount for additional guests

Could someone share what they have experienced?

Thanks

In my opinion, this is one of the downsides to the new Norwegian website. The prices are still higher for the first two passengers, but to see that you have to do a mock booking for 2 and then rebook for a higher number. Now when you price out a cruise for more than two, it quotes the average price across all passengers (just dividing the total price by the number of passengers). My guess is that if you compare the totals, they'll match up.

We have the Gem GV booked for 7 passengers in November (can't wait!!!) and passengers 3-7 were $399 each + taxes & fees. The bulk of the price is in the first two passengers.

They most certainly do discount on third, fourth (thru eighth) passenger. What you are seeing is the weird (and stupid) pricing structure for the new website, dividing the total price by the total number of passengers instead of breaking it down person by person. Follow me and I think you'll understand..

NCL Dawn to Bermuda, sailing 5/16/2014

If you price for two people, the GV prices at $7049 per person, for a total of $14,410 (after taxes and fees)

If you price for four people, the GV prices at $3724 per person, for a total of $15,492 (after taxes and fees)

So, you can see that the extra two people are only ~$500 per person. The first and second pax are ~$7200 per person. Either way, a VERY cheap deal for the Garden Villa! (Ours have been anywhere from $8500-$15,000 for the first two pax per week - I have two booked presently).

The new pricing makes people confused, and when pricing they might think they can actually book the GV for $3724 per person for two people, which you cannot.

Hope this makes sense!

Robin

Thanks guys!

Fishbait, I swear I earlier tried what you suggest, and didnt seem to getting any break

Just tried your suggested search and pricing was just as you indicate

I can't beleive how poor crusie ship lines websites are in general

Clunky, slow, etc etc

Not user friendly

We have been on Celebrity a few times and recent experience with their website was also poor

One additional question:

Seems like many prefer the 14500 suite as opposed to the 14000

It appears the 14500 is already booked on just about any search I've done?

Thanks again

I think the pricing on the website is TOTALLY misleading, especially when you factor in the insurance. If passenger 3-8 cannot make it and make a claim, I bet the insurance company will only refund the $500 instead of the $3+ grand they actually "paid" per the website.

We have the Dawn GV 14000 in April and last I checked, 14500 was still available.

14000 has a kitchen in the room and 14500 has a bar....

Generally people prefer the bar setup, which is why you'll see 14500 gone more often than not.

And yes, the first two people booked, pay the huge bulk of the cabin price and the 3-7th person pays just a few hundred each, technically.

I always went for 14500 because of the bar setup. Last cruise 14000 and in fact the kitchen makes a much better bar with all the refrigerated space.

We have never sailed on the Dawn but have sailed on her sister ship, the Star, in the GV. We prefer 14000. It does have a decent size refrigerator in it. We aren't drinkers but always manage to keep it full. I have 4 GV booked currently but the Star was not available for any of the destinations we wanted. We have also stayed in the GV on the Jewel and it is wonderful but nothing compares to the outdoor space on the Star and Dawn. Have a great time. It is everything you think it will be and more.

we were in the Dawn 14000 in January. The kitchen was great...3 fridges, sink, microwave, coffee machine, and our butler set up a cooler and kept it full of ice for us! There is a door so it could be closed although we kept it open most of the time. I did see the bar setup in 14500 and that was nice also. You will love either one!! Enjoy. (BTW...I find it cheaper on other sites...check around as NCLs price isn't always the best....I used my timeshare for exchange and got an awesome deal!)
