Cruise California Pacific coast in February 2014

We are considering taking the Azamara Quest 8 night coastal California cruise February 10, 2014 and concerned about the condition of the sea. Is anyone else taking the cruise and if so what do you know about what weather to expect? Having balance issues don't want rough waters.

You did not say what ports you are scheduled to visit?

But, Feb is winter in California, while it may be mild compared to other parts of the country, it still can be rainy and windy especially from about Monterey CA to the north.

I live near San Francisco, have lived in this area for 66 years. The best time of year to do a California coastal cruise is in Sept or October, weather is more like summer at that time. I am leaving on 9/27 on a Princess coastal cruise for 7 days on the Grand Princess. By comparison, my sister did a similar Princess coastal a year or so ago in March and had a fair amount of rain.

We can get lots of rain (depending on it's an El Niño or La Niña year) in Southern California between November and March.

No matter what time of year or what kind of weather, if you are sailing north from Mexico to California, you will encounter some moderate to rough seas. There's a current you'll be crossing.

I am on your cruise next month in October. It is good to know the info you gave. Thanks.
