lakemurraykid Posted September 18, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2013 What time are the suites typically ready on embarkation day. I remember on our last cruise we told it would be 1 p.m. and they made an announcement. But for full suites, I wondered if they were ready before 1 p.m.
kc320 Posted September 18, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 18, 2013 The 2 times I sailed in a GS they were not ready before any of the other cabins..1:00...not sure if you have a higher suite you can get in any earlier or not....
yolanda1 Posted September 18, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 18, 2013 I wouldn't think so. It takes just as long to clean and prep them when the previous guests have left as it does for any other grade of cabin.
Rare NorbertsNiece Posted September 18, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 18, 2013 All corridors are generally closed down for public access until all rooms are ready. The only access for passengers is for those on B2B.
Colorado Babe Posted September 18, 2013 #5 Share Posted September 18, 2013 Our suite was available as soon as we got on the ship a few weeks ago. It was around noon. :)

leaveitallbehind Posted September 18, 2013 #8 Share Posted September 18, 2013 Thank you everyone. I was just kind of hoping that I could drop off my carry-on bag before going to the Windjammer.:p Bring a carry on small enough to hold onto until 1:00. In our experience they do not show preferential treatment to suites in terms of cleaning. As indicated they are all in the same corridor as non-suite staterooms and they remain closed until all staterooms in that corridor are ready. And they typically open all corridors at the same time. Occasionally staterooms are ready prior to 1 but that can apply to any category.
cruisegirl1 Posted September 18, 2013 #9 Share Posted September 18, 2013 Our suite was available as soon as we got on the ship a few weeks ago. It was around noon. :) Seems for every RCCL cruise we've been on, the fire doors are closed and sometimes there is a staff guarding the door ( and there to offer direction or assistance) until 1 PM. We’ve never been able to get to the cabin before 1 PM. The exception for us has been when we are on a B2B cruise. Not sure if RS passengers have the ability to get to the cabin earlier. leaveitallbehind Posted September 18, 2013 #10 Share Posted September 18, 2013 Not sure if RS passengers have the ability to get to the cabin earlier. M Not sure why they would - the RS is also in the same corridor as lesser staterooms. That would only segregate a single suite from the other suites, whose passengers - other than for its size - share in the same benefits it provides. So now one suite would yield better treatment than another - very upsetting to those in PS's, RFS's, OS's and GS's - not to mention the other high - and often higher - priced real estate on Oasis / Allure! :D:eek::rolleyes:

Thanks, M Supposedly, they would be ready at 1 p.m. but we never heard an announcement indicating anything. We went to eat lunch at Rita's (disappointing) and decided to go ahead and see if the room was ready at 12:40-12:45. It was.
hazeleyez3 Posted September 18, 2013 #17 Share Posted September 18, 2013 On this past cruise, the corridors were open at 1pm, but our GS (along with our steward's other rooms) weren't ready until around 3pm. All other cruises, once the hallways were open at 1, our cabin was ready.
leaveitallbehind Posted September 18, 2013 #18 Share Posted September 18, 2013 In our experience - which has included suites - there have been times when our stateroom was ready before 1:00. But in those instances they all were ready in that particular corridor - regardless of category. As previously posted, there is no preferential early availability for suite guests. It seemed like they were all ready, and had nothing to do with your particular accommodations. That was the OP’s question Op – seems like they are open at the same time and GENERALLY around 1 PM. It is possible that the cabins will be available a few minutes before or after 1 PM. Enjoy M

opcasey Posted September 20, 2013 #22 Share Posted September 20, 2013 When we sailed on Mariner in May, there were signs stating that cabins wouldn't be ready until 3pm to allow extra cleaning time due to a virus outbreak on the previous cruise. We took our carry on luggage to the CL and were served free drinks while we waited. I'm not sure if they do that for every cruise or only when there's such a long delay for cleaning.
