It would have been nice if the article had mentioned a "Texas Waffle King" on the Celebrity board...but only in a good way.

Going over to Princess board now to search fondue. It's only a matter of time before this article gets posted there. Then pop your popcorn and get ready for an entertaining exchange.

Loved the article. I have not really found a "queen" here on the Celebrity boards. For the majority' date=' the posters here are typically not snarky/nasty. There are some exceptions, but not the rule.[/quote']

Appreciate this sharing of this very interesting article. Lots of great ideas and people are here on these boards and most are happy to help in a good manner. Good that there appears to be no out-of-control "Queen" here on the Celebrity boards. Otherwise, maybe, there would be urgings for a be-heading!!

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

Did a June 7-19, 2011, Celebrity Solstice cruise from Barcelona that had stops in Villefranche, ports near Pisa and Rome, Naples, Kotor, Venice and Dubrovnik. Enjoyed great weather and a wonderful trip. Dozens of wonderful visuals with key highlights, tips, comments, etc., on these postings. We are now at 142,064 views for this live/blog re-cap on our first sailing with Celebrity and much on wonderful Barcelona. Check these postings and added info at:

How refreshing to see a travel writer that took the time to really research the subject before writing on it - it's obvious that he/she spent many hours on CC. We've seen many travel articles that make you wonder if the writer had ever visited the site they wrote about. This should introduce many new people to our favorite website!

Better to have the Texas Waffle King on our board than Princess Queen Bee :)

Very interesting read. I just wonder, will Queen Bee read the article and see herself? If you read the comment section below the article, the author said he didn't want to be mean to Queen Bee, but it was just to point out that you shouldn't read too much into all the comments, and that roll calls were a better source of information.

Interesting article:

Very.

Thank you for the link.

I believe that there are many drones and worker bees on the Celebrity site. ;)

However we can all recognize cruisers with long signatures, strong views about certain issues and the occasional snarky comment which many of us make if someone hits our personal hot button.

Any long term poster recognizes the names of others who are respected or ignored or just a pain in the nether regions.

I just went to the "Member List" and clicked on "posts" in order to see who spends a lot of time posting....

I only recognized a few names as regular Celebrity "busy bees"..

I wonder if there is any connection between post count and time spent on a ship?

Only a guess based on no real data but I believe the answer is "yes". I notice that some post for a period of time and then fade away. They tend to appear later when they are about to take a cruise. Some people post whether they are taking a cruise or not, but that might be a small minority of posters. I have a strong feeling that people tend to gravitate to the boards when actually cruising. Perhaps someone will design a solid poll to gain some insight.

I recognized quite a few frequent RCI cruisers on the first few pages.

The article was entertaining but displayed a lot of ignorance.

So read that article as what it is - pure fluff.

The significance of the article for me was that a travel site/publication was advocating the use of the cruise critic web site for information.

I also believe that many regulars have seen posts by self appointed masters of all knowledge pertaining to a cruise line (not me of course) and dismissive of any contrary point of view (well sometimes).

In my opinion (never humble and I have the duelling scars as evidence) it (the fluff in your evaluation) was great advertising for Cruise Critic.

BTW I don't know THE Queen Bee since we're no longer Princess Fans, but I do recognize the stereotype from reading occasional HAL threads.

This Celebrity site only has nice people... :D

Interesting article that actually had me smiling at times.

I think we all recognize the 'queen bee' posters when we see them. The Celebrity boards have a couple, too. What I hope is that everyone treats them with courtesy even though we all know that isn't the case all the time.

If we would all take a deep breath before hitting the 'post' key, these boards wouldn't get so 'snarky' ;)

I'd still be at only about 11,000 posts in a dozen years. I can't even remember who I was when Cruise Critic erased all those early posts back in 2,000 or 2,001?.....

I do recall that they dumped everyone's posts when they installed the new boards in late 2003, early 2004, after the infopoop (as it was called), administered boards,, kept crashing.
