Brilliance/ New England tender question

Recommended Posts

The only time I have been in tender ports I have done a ship's excursion. We arrive in Bar Harbor, Maine at 7 and I have a private excursion at 10. If I get in line early for tickets, do they call that number and you have to go right then? Or can you go a little later(maybe you're in the middle of breakfast) and they let the ones with the lower numbers on first? I know ship excursions have priority. Also, do both of us have to be in line for tickets or can I get two? Thanks to CC members for all your help!

We did Bar Harbor on Jewel a couple of years ago. I assume the procedures will be similar. I don't have a thorough memory, but I do recall it was no big deal and we got to our private tour in plenty of time -- but we got off early. I do recall standing in line down the hall on 2 [i believe] waiting for the tender, but we were among the first and it was not a long wait. I suspect that by the time you need to get to your tour the rush will be over and you won't have any trouble. You should have plenty of time to grab a bite and get to the tour if you start heading for the tenders at 9 or so.

If you get to shore early, there are several shops right there to occupy you until time for your tour. Most tours start at a bus parking lot just up the hill a bit from the tender dock. The main shopping area is just beyond the buses.

Bar Harbor was a great port. Hope your tour takes you into the park and up the mountain. Enjoy.

First all early ships excursions will be allowed to tender. Once that's completed it's generally open boarding and no tickets are needed. However the line can be stopped intermittently for those still needing to meet up with a later ship's excursion.

Seeing as though your private tour is at 10:00 AM you most likely need to be in the tender line no later than 9:00 AM at which time it's very unlikely that tickets will be used at the point.
