dotcomgirl Posted September 22, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 22, 2013 We want to do a b2b in May 2015 for my birthday on either the Allure or the Oasis. We definitely want the same room on the same ship for both weeks. We won't know until October 2014 if we will actually get the time off work for the specific cruise weeks that we want. Is it better to book now/soon to get the same room for both weeks (and then we can always cancel if we don't get the time off work)? Or is it safe to wait until October 2014 to book? I'm just worried that if we wait until October 2014, it might be difficult to get not only the room type we want, but the same room for both weeks of the b2b. As long as you can cancel for a full refund, I don't see any reason to wait. Book now to get the best choice of staterooms.

If we are doing a B2B we book as soon as the itins come out. You can always cancel if you have too. I would get them booked now so you can be assured you have the same cabin for both weeks. the longer you wait, the less likely you will get the same cabin. Colorado Babe Posted September 23, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 23, 2013 We are on a B2B in January and have to switch cabins. I am hopeful we'll fix the situation before we sail. Different cabin categories for each sailing due to kids sailing with us in the first sailing and not the 2nd. Hoping we see a price drop in the suites so we can make it happen. SPacificbound Posted September 23, 2013 #5 Share Posted September 23, 2013 I would book early and specify "no upgrades". :)
Sunny AZ Girl Posted September 23, 2013 #6 Share Posted September 23, 2013 We booked our upcoming B2B a year in advance. We were able to get the cabin location we wanted for both cruises, so I am happy we did it.
petel Posted September 23, 2013 #7 Share Posted September 23, 2013 As long as you can cancel for a full refund, I don't see any reason to wait. Book now to get the best choice of staterooms. Ditto! Never wait to book if you are over 8 months out. Once you start the count down the prices may rise and fall within the same week. After final payment you may find a really good deal on one cruise but usually not the same cabin on a B2B. 8 months is just a general time. The price roller coaster begins at different times for different ships/itineraries. Enjoy! Book now! :)
Ourusualbeach Posted September 23, 2013 #8 Share Posted September 23, 2013 Only 3 ships Oasis, Radience and Rhapsody have schedules that have been released for May 2015. Schedules for the rest of the fleet will be released starting in March 2014. As others have said book early for best cabin selection. You can always cancel if you need to. pcur Posted September 23, 2013 #9 Share Posted September 23, 2013 I booked our b2b 15 months in advance, and still did not get our ideal location to get the same cabin for both cruises If it's a popular itinerary, the sooner the better.
garycarla Posted September 23, 2013 #10 Share Posted September 23, 2013 Have done a few B2B (on other lines). We have usually booked late and could not get same cabins. In at least two cases, when we got closer, we were able to get what we needed. Reservations move around and around. (moving was no big deal on the last one where we could not get same cabin)
Ashland Posted September 23, 2013 #11 Share Posted September 23, 2013 It's never too early to book a cruise if there's a certain cabin/cabins you need..Remember RCI has a waitlist also you can request to be put on for a specific cabin..but that's taking a chance...Best of luck and enjoy. retird Posted September 23, 2013 #12 Share Posted September 23, 2013 I January 2013 I booked a Transatlantic to Barcelona for April 2013 and followed by a B2B of the Mediterranean and had no problem keeping the same D1 cabin mid ship. I guess we were probably just lucky.
ASeaPrincess1 Posted September 23, 2013 #13 Share Posted September 23, 2013 I booked myself and a group of friends on a B2B for NEXT April (2014). We booked it LAST May, (a year ago, 2012) so that was nearly two years out. Of the 5 cabins we booked, only MINE was already sold for the second leg! So you never can tell......... tispwisp Posted September 23, 2013 #14 Share Posted September 23, 2013 Another vote for booking now. We have booked several B2B's and try to book as early as possible to get the same cabin and usually we have a particular cabin/location that we want. Early is always better. Then we keep our eyes open for price drops! ;) Sometimes the prices have gone up and then I pat myself on the back for booking early and locking in that rate! As long as it's before final payment you can always cancel and get your deposit back if you change your mind. Good luck!
