I have read that RCCL has a bag that you can fill with laundry for 25.00 can my husband and I each send a bag for 25.00 each or is it only one bag for each stateroom?

Thanks

If you need more than one, ask your stateroom attendant. We've been able to get more than one from time to time.

Usually you can stuff a lot into those bags...If necessary request an additional bag from your cabin steward also not sure of your itinerary but some longer sailings offer this on more than one night.

Just so you know, it is not "all you can fit regardless of what it is", as some people may think. The list is specific and you are limited to PJ's, socks, underwear, t-shirts, shorts, and bathing suits. Something else might fit, but if it's not on the short list it will be charged out to you at regular prices.

Tightly roll your dirty laundry and pack the bag carefully. You'll be surprized how much you can fit. Ask your steward for the wash and fold bag. Sometimes it is different from the laundry bag in your room. Includes socks, underwear, T shirts, polo shirts and swim suits and, I think, shorts. You'll get a list. Anything not on the wash and fold list is charged full price. I like coming home with clean clothes.

I also like packing only half as much washables and having them laundered mid-cruise :)

As Diamond Plus members, my wife and I each get a coupon for a free bag of laundry and have used both without any problem. When our room steward hasn't provided a special bag for this offer, we have been advised to simply use the regular paper laundry bag along with the coupon. Not sure how it will work when the coupon books are discontinued and offers are encoded on our sea pass card, but I imagine the same rules will apply.

We asked our stateroom steward on our recent Freedom cruise when the wash and fold special was and she was not sure of the day. We watched the Compass but it was never advertised. Turns out that they took it on Thursday and returned on Friday, but our cabin steward never asked us on Thursday evening where out bag was, even though we specifically asked her about it. We ended up calling housekeeping around 10 PM and they sent someone to pick it up.

So be sure you find out from someone who knows the definite day or you can miss it.

What night is this usually on? Our next cruise is 8 nights and I am planning on taking advantage of this to pack less. Also how long till the stuff comes back?

Not possible to predict which night, but you should be able to ask your stateroom attendant. It takes one day to get the clothes back.

We were on the same sailing as you and we never got the offer in our cabin either. We weren't going to use it since we always way overpack but I never saw any information about it on the ship either. I just figured it was our cabin steward. If he used two bath towels to make a towel animal, then we wouldn't have bath towels in the bathroom, we would have to take apart the animal. Never had that before. He also didn't believe in leaving wash cloths for some reason.

We also had towel issues, but our steward kept telling us there were issues with the dryers and the towels were not coming out completely dry so we had to make due with fewer until my mom really got annoyed and strongly requested enough towels did we get what we needed. It was weird...she was a nice woman, even hung up my boys' dress clothes on formal night when they ran back to change so they could go out after dinner and left everything on the beds. Yet enough towels was like pulling teeth.

One per cabin.

Don't use it for anything delicate.

Best for undies, socks, PJs, tees.

You can fit a lot in it if you try.

It's worth it.

agree, a lot can go into it and on a long cruise you usually get another one ( bag) placed in your room closer to the end of the cruise to do laundry a second time. love the service.

My wife makes me do the wash when we get home, as I am retired and she still works.:eek:

We have been told on our last few cruises that we can get the bag on any day we want. It used to be a certain day but I don't think that's the case any longer. When we asked our room steward he brought us a couple of bags and told us we could do it anytime.

Taking our first non-Disney cruise for Thanksgiving week on the Allure. I've been mildly annoyed at not having a guest laundry facility at my disposal. Do tell about these $25 wash/dry/fold offers! Please please please tell me this will happen on the Allure Eastern!!! Also, does anyone know which night it would be? We've got 2 staterooms (booked our teenagers their own room) so even at 1 bag per room I think we'll be in great shape! TIA! :D

I've received the bag in every 7 day or longer cruise. Just ask your stateroom attendant what day they will have the bag.

Like I said in an earlier post-we've been told on our last three or four cruises that we could send the bag out any day. There was not a certain day. Most recent was on a 12 day cruise on Enchantment in March of this year. We sent a bag out twice on different days.

we have never had a problem with the laundry service. Usually do a bag a week but can have as many as you need...its per guest from what our stewards have told us. we have coupons for free so we fold neatly and put in the bag and get them back that way. I would love to know the secret for getting the butter from the seafood out of the shirts....its a miracle...makes me want to bring things from home for them to fix that my local cleaners can't or won't.

Just saying we have always had great service from the laundry.

Can't say for sure how the laundry folks on the ship work their magic for the butter speckles but I can tell you how I do it. And it never fails. I dab some Dawn dish soap onto the spots carefully and let it soak in. Remember the commercials "Dawn takes grease out of your way"? That is a very literal statement. Dawn will take grease (butter) out of your way (speckled on your shirt fronts). :D

Yup, Dawn does the trick. I don't bother to soak things though, we just put a dab of Dawn on the fresh stain and I just scrub it back in forth in the water as the machine is filling. I then just pour our laundry soap on the spot and launder as usual. Works great even if the Dawn dries before I get to the laundry.
