There is a limited vegetarian choice on each menu but there is also a vegetarian menu from which you can order the day before. This was what I started out doing, though in the Grills, I just asked for whatever I fancied and they ALWAYS produced something amazing.

Cunard do manage some lovely salads as well, far better than I have eaten elsewhere.

I would imagine that having a vegetarian meal works the same as my diabetic meal. You tell you travel agent or Cunard that you want all vegetarian meals. Check that they say this is ok.

Then in the restaurant you tell the waiter and he will arrange for you to get the menu a day ahead. You then have to look for what is available and modify it to your liking.

For example, you might see asparagus and tomatoes as an accompaniment to fish. You can tell them you want these vegetables prepared in a certain way.

Some things are available all the time. Recently, I had sauteed mushrooms and spinach every night on QM2. They put it on the table in addition to my plain diabetic entrée.

See if the waiter supervisor Oprea Viorel is available. He is very good and will suggest things for you to eat.

They do have vegetarian items but I do not think it will make whole meals.

Do not expect them to have a vegetarian menu similar to an airline. It does not work that way. They have a chef who prepares the special meals. He cooks what you request. Ask and you will receive it.

In my experience there are vegetarian selections marked on the regular menu. If you're vegetarian or ovo-lacto-vegetarian as opposed to vegan you'll find more options to suit you on the daily menu. We traveled a couple of times with friends who were leaning vegetarian at the time (now they're vegetarian leaning toward vegan) and they always had good options to choose from.

Last year a table mate complained about his choices until he admitted that he had booked vegetarian when he really wanted vegan. Everything was fine for him once it was corrected.

Here is a random photo of a QM2 dinner menu that I found online.

I think this indicates that what some consider vegetarian, others (myself included) do not. There is generally only one true vegetarian entree offered, as this shows, most/ many true vegetarians do not eat fish either.

The menu denotes the vegetarian options with a (V) at the end. I didn't see anything so marked that fails the test, although as I said they're not necessarily vegan.

No I agree those marked V are vegetarian, but there is no choice at all from the main menus. I was responding to a comment that two or three of the main couses were vegetarian. Therefore, to be able to actually chose a meal, it is often necessary to select from the Vegetarian menu.

We eat eggs and dairy but not meat or fish. We sailed the QM2 in august and struggled with thefood. It was generally ok in the mdr for the evening meal although the desserts are not labelled. In kings court it wasnt always possible to work out the ingredients and food wasnt labelled as to whether it was veggie friendly. They putmeat into some of rhe soups and vegetables. The speciality restaurants and alternative dining areas generally had only one option although one of them had no veggie main course at all. I felt a bit like a second class citizen as far as the food was concerned. Most meat eaters will eat vegetarian food as well so we thought they could have offered more choice.

I said there were 2 or 3 choices marked with a (V) on the QV. That was 2 weeks ago, but the menus posted (QM2) that only show 1 (V) marked are 4 years old.
