How do I get to Blue Lagoon?

We'll be in Nassau on 10/17 and we booked the dolphin encounter directly through Blue Lagoon since the price was significantly cheaper than booking through Carnival. (there are a total of 9 of us).

None of us have ever cruised or been to the Bahamas before. How will we know how to get to Blue Lagoon once our boat docks in Nassau? Will there be signs or taxis? Water taxis? Car taxis?

If you booked directly with the Dolphin Encounter (BLue lagoon), then you must take a cab to the Paradise Island Ferry Terminal on Paradise Island.

The cab will cost $4pp and the trip should take about 10-15 minutes.

You need be at the Ferry Terminal 30 minutes before your scheduled ferry.

If you are takeing the 8:30am ferry, please give yourself plenty of time... there's early am traffic.

Is there a place where the ferry schedule is published? A reply stated that you need to be at the ferry terminal 30 minutes before the ferry is scheduled to leave.

You need to make a reservation.. they will tell you which ferries they have room on. Generally, they are at 8:30am and 10:30 am.. then 12:30pm.

Coming back it's 1, 2 and 4pm.

Once you book they will tell you what time to meet the ferry. You will need a wristband to board.

We didnt get a wristband... I printed out my receipt and the only mention says "Boat Departure Time 13:30". Im assuming that means I need to be on the Ferry by 1:30?

If you booked directly with Blue Lagoon, you pick up the wristbands at the paradise Island ferry terminal before you board the ferry.

We will be in Nassau in March this year and are wanting to do Blue Lagoon. We plan on taking the shore excursion to Blue Lagoon from our ship, but we are not able to book until we get on the ship so we can use our onboard credit. Therefore, I was wondering if in case we find that this shore excursion is all sold out, then how do we get to Blue Lagoon? Looking at all your posts it looks like you have to either book thru a cruise line or thru Blue Lagoon itself. Can you just go get a ferry from Paradise Island over to Blue Lagoon and do it independently without reserving? We are not really concerned about lunch since our ship doesn't get into port until 12pm and plan on just eating on the ship before getting off. We just want to see the beautiful water and beach.

Thank you.

No matter how you book, I think you will have to take a taxi to the Paradise Island Ferry Terminal and then a water ferry to Blue Lagoon. Not sure if I mentioned it in this thread, but it appears to me that all you can do from this terminal is go to Blue Lagoon. You will purchase wrist bands from the gal at the window at the ferry terminal which will get you to/from transportation to BL and whatever activities you choose. There is also a place at Blue Lagoon where you can add on activities. When we went in December, there was maybe 8 other families from our ship who went out there. And I am not sure there were other people from other boats there. It was very dead, but we liked it like that. We got a lot of attention at the dolphin swim and basically had the beach to ourselves. My kids ate at the restaurant, but we did not so I cannot speak on that. We LOVE Blue Lagoon. The ride over is worth it.
